Jean is 100% going to tell Jeremy he loves him accidentally, the boy can NOT keep his mouth shut when he's emotional. And you know what I think is going to be what gets him to spill the beans?
how different Jean and Jeremy react to jealousy.
stay with me here! both of them are jealous freaks, but as far as we know Jean has no reason to think Jeremy is jealous of anyone (MAYBE Laila after the shirt stunt before the banquet, but he doesnt dwell on it, and its a moot point anyway).
But Jeremy does notice when Jean is jealous, and he likes it. He wants someone to be jealous, to vie for his attention, to want his attention, and put all their attention on him.
then there's also how they express their jealousy. Jean gets pissed and imagines blowing people up with his mind; Jeremy gets insecure and beats himself up for not being like them.
so imagine a scenario where Jean finds out how insanely jealous Jeremy is of Renee (her specifically for this thought exercise, could be anyone really). And Jean is thinking about how he feels when he gets jealous, and is absolutely bending over backwards to reassure Jeremy he is not at all interested in Renee (anymore).
and Jeremy is like "It's okay, I know I'll never be like her. I'll never have what you see in her."
and Jean is like "Of course you'll never be like her, you aren't her. You are Jeremy, and that's what I love about you."
and then both of them shatter into a hundred million pieces after that bomb drop, and maybe we get a JUICY parallel from the day on the beach, where Jeremy flinches away (because Jean can't really mean it, he didn't even mean to say it) and Jean reaches out to him but falters when Jeremy moves away (because obviously thats not what Jeremy wanted to hear, if he reacted like that)
