SUP-FAN's Spider-man and Iron Fist by SUP-FAN on DeviantArt
A Tearful Goodbye: A USM Fanfic
The lights in the Triskelion briefing room were dimmed low.
On the central monitor, the faded blue stamp of ARCHIVED: S.H.I.E.L.D. SECURITY – PARKER RESIDENCE / BENJAMIN & MAY PARKER flickered to life. Peter swallowed.
Around him stood his team: Nova, White Tiger, Power Man, and Iron Fist. Even Nick Fury stood silently near the back, arms folded, giving Peter space but not leaving him alone.
The footage crackled. Uncle Ben’s living room appeared, grainy and washed in late-evening shadows. The old floral couch. The lamp Aunt May always left on. The clock ticking above the doorway.
And then—Mary Parker stepped into frame. Peter’s breath hitched. She looked younger than he remembered. Softer. Her hair pulled back loosely, like she’d done when she thought no one important would see her. But her eyes—her eyes were tired. “She knew,” Nova whispered faintly. Peter didn’t answer.
Richard Parker followed her in, carrying a small overnight bag. He said something the audio barely picked up—something reassuring. Mary nodded, but her composure was fragile.
The camera shifted—bedroom feed. A small figure lay curled under dinosaur-print blankets. Six-year-old Peter. White Tiger’s hand moved instinctively to her mouth.
Mary knelt beside the bed. She brushed her fingers gently through little Peter’s messy hair, the way mothers do when they’re memorizing something they’re afraid to lose. Her voice was soft, but the recording caught it. “Hey, my brave little guy…”
Peter felt something crack in his chest. On the screen, Mary leaned down and kissed her sleeping son’s forehead. She lingered there—longer than a normal goodnight kiss. Like she was trying to freeze time. “No matter what happens,” she whispered, her voice trembling, “I will always be with you. You hear me? Always.”
Little Peter stirred but didn’t wake. Mary pressed her forehead to his for just a second more. Her shoulders began to shake. She covered her mouth to keep from sobbing and quietly stood.
Richard stepped forward, wrapping his arms around her. He looked strong—composed—but his jaw was tight, and his eyes glistened. The footage cut to the guest bedroom. Mary lay beside Richard, facing away from the camera. The room was dark except for moonlight spilling through the window. For a moment, everything was still.
Then her shoulders began to tremble. She cried silently into the pillow, trying not to wake anyone. Richard pulled her close. Peter couldn’t breathe. On screen, Mary whispered something barely audible: “I don’t want to leave him.” The audio distorted—but her grief was unmistakable.
In the present, Peter’s mask lay crumpled in his fist. His eyes were wet now. No quips. No jokes. No deflection. He watched his mother cry herself to sleep beside his father the night before that doomed flight. She hadn’t left because she didn’t care. She’d left terrified. For him.
Power Man shifted uncomfortably. Iron Fist bowed his head. Even Nova looked like he’d rather fight a dozen supervillains than stand in this room. Peter finally spoke, his voice small. “She was scared.” Fury nodded once. “They both were.”
Peter wiped at his face, but more tears came anyway. On the screen, Mary’s hand had drifted to rest over Richard’s chest as she slept—like she was anchoring herself.
“She kissed me like she knew,” Peter whispered. “Like she was saying goodbye.” White Tiger stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. Peter kept staring at the frozen image of his mother.
All these years, he’d told himself they were fearless agents. Untouchable. Larger than life. But here—She was just a mom. A mom who didn’t want to leave her little boy. His voice broke. “She said she’d always be with me…” Nova sniffed quietly. “Maybe she is, man.” Peter let out a shaky breath.
For the first time, the weight he’d carried about their deaths shifted—not lighter, but clearer. His mother hadn’t left him. She had loved him so fiercely it hurt. And even through grainy S.H.I.E.L.D. footage and years of unanswered questions—Peter could see it now. She’d meant every word.
💥🛡️ Samuel “Sam” Thompson Character Bio:
Basic Information
Full Name: Samuel Eugene Thompson
Parents: Flash Thompson & Sha Shan Nguyen
Alias: Agent Anti-Venom, “Tank” (unwanted nickname)
Affiliations: Community defense networks, occasional ally of young heroes
Base of Operations: New York City
🧬 Legacy & Family Influence
Samuel grew up in the long shadow of his father—war hero, former bully turned protector, and once the bonded host of the Venom symbiote. Flash Thompson taught his son two things:
Strength without humility becomes cruelty.
Redemption is always possible.
From Sha Shan Nguyen, Samuel inherited discipline and emotional intelligence. She balanced Flash’s brash energy with calm grounding wisdom, teaching Sam that real courage isn’t loud—it’s steady.
Sam loves both of them fiercely, though he’d rather bench-press a truck than admit it out loud.
💪 Personality (Inspired Blend)
🧢 Gene Thompson (MC2 Influence)
Like Gene Thompson of the MC2 universe, Sam struggles with the complicated reputation of his father. He wants to forge his own identity—not live as “Flash Thompson’s kid.” He respects heroes but refuses to worship them blindly. He believes legacy should be earned daily.
🧃 Muscle Man Energy (Regular Show)
Channeling the chaotic bravado of Muscle Man, Sam:
Brags loudly
Trash-talks competitively
Pretends not to care what people think
But underneath? He’s deeply loyal. Insult his friends and he’s at your side instantly. He may act like a meathead, but he remembers birthdays and checks in when people go quiet. He absolutely has a habit of saying, “You know who else could fight off alien invasions? MY DAD!” before getting shoved.
🟢 Guy Gardner-Level Confidence
With the blunt fearlessness of Guy Gardner, Sam doesn’t back down—ever. He’s confrontational, opinionated, and sometimes reckless. But when the situation turns serious, he’s the first one charging into danger. He’d rather get knocked down defending someone than stay safe doing nothing.
🛡️ Skills & Abilities
Sam is not superpowered (yet), but he’s far from ordinary.
Elite-level athleticism (linebacker build, natural brawler)
Military-grade combat training passed down from Flash
Tactical instincts learned through secondhand war stories and practical drills
Above-average resilience and pain tolerance
He has experimented with prototype defense gear inspired by Agent Venom tech, but refuses to use symbiotes—he wants his strength to be his own.
🧠 Emotional Core
For all his bravado, Sam carries quiet insecurity:
Is he destined to screw up like his dad once did?
Is he strong enough to live up to the redemption Flash earned?
Can he be a protector without becoming a bully?
He overcompensates with confidence. But when someone truly believes in him, he softens fast.
❤️ Relationships
With Flash: Competitive, loving, loud. They argue like rivals but would go to war for each other. Flash sees his younger self in Sam—and gently steers him away from old mistakes.
With Sha Shan: She is his emotional anchor. When Sam spirals, she’s the only one who can calm him with a single look.
With Young Heroes: He clashes with more idealistic types but earns their trust through action, not words.
🔥 Potential Future Arc
Samuel Thompson stands at a crossroads:
Follow in Agent Venom’s footsteps?
Become a community-based hero with no costume?
Or carve out something entirely new?
Unlike his father, Sam doesn’t need a symbiote to feel powerful.
His strength comes from:
Owning his flaws
Protecting the underdog
Choosing better, even when it’s harder
He may talk big. He may punch first.
But when it matters most?
Samuel Thompson shows up.
“Rise, Little Spider” Peter Gets Knighted:
The war was over. Not “quiet for now.” Not “regroup and brace.” Actually over. The sky above Asgard was blue again. Clear. Like nothing had ever tried to tear the universe apart. Which felt extremely rude, honestly. Because Peter still felt like he’d been hit by twelve trucks and one emotional freight train.
Training Courtyard — Asgard
Golden stone. Tall banners. Soft breeze. The kind of place where warriors probably trained dramatically at sunrise. Today? Team Awesome was sprawled out like exhausted raccoons.
Luke was flat on his back. “Man… Asgard gravity hits different.”
Danny meditating. “I find it centering.”
Sam face-planted into the grass. “I fought three dragons. I deserve a trophy.”
Ava leaning against a pillar, arms crossed but relaxed for once.
And Peter—Sitting on the edge of the fountain. Watching and waiting. Because inside the nearby hall…Arcturus was finishing her final healing rites. He kept bouncing his knee. Tap tap tap tap tap. Ava noticed immediately. “You’re doing the leg thing again.” “I don’t have a leg thing.” “You do when you’re nervous.” “I’m not nervous.” huffed Peter indignantly. “Your leg says otherwise.” Ava said, pointing to his jittery knee. “…traitor leg.”
The doors flung opened. Everyone looked up. And Peter stood so fast he almost tripped. “Whoa— easy, tiger,” Sam muttered. But Peter wasn’t listening. Because she stepped out.
Arcturus Returns
Her coat shone brighter than before. Like polished pearl. Her armor reforged — etched with fresh runes that glowed softly. Wings wide and strong. Not dim and certainly not weak. But more radiant and alive.
Peter’s breath caught. “…Buttercup.” Her head lifted. She saw him. And that warm, familiar voice returned to his mind.
Little spider.
He didn’t even pretend to be cool. He ran straight to her. Nearly slipped. Recovered. Then pressed both hands against her neck like he needed proof she was real. “You’re okay. You’re actually okay. Like, not fake-okay or ‘heroic last words’ okay. Actually okay.” She huffed warmly against his hair.
Did you expect me to abandon you so easily?
“…YES. You got stabbed by evil space metal!”
It was very rude metal.
He laughed. God, he missed that. Behind him—Sam stage-whispered: “Bro is hugging a horse again.”
Ava elbowed him. “Shut up.”
Luke: “Let him have this.”
Danny smiling softly: “Bonds between souls are sacred.”
Sam: “…it’s still a horse.”
Arcturus’s head turned slowly.
Sam immediately straightened.
“…Your Majesty.”
Peter: “HAHA— fear the horse queen, space nerd.”
The Gathering
Thor entered the courtyard, cloak flowing. “Asgard owes Midgard’s champions a debt.” Peter blinked. “Oh no. Whenever gods say that it usually means paperwork.” But Arcturus stepped forward before Thor could continue. Her wings unfurled. Light catching every feather. The courtyard grew quieter. Even the breeze seemed to pause.
Peter Parker.
His joking stopped instantly. “…Yeah?”
Kneel.
Sam: “Ooooooh.”
Peter: “Dude shut up— wait why am I kneeling— am I in trouble?”
Ava gently pushed his shoulder.
“Just go with it, Pete.”
“…If I get knighted I’m absolutely putting it on my résumé.”
He knelt. Still awkward. Still Peter. But sincere. Always sincere.
The Knighthood of Alfheim
Arcturus lowered her head. Her horn touched the ground. Golden light rippled outward like water. Runic symbols formed in a circle around Peter. Warm. Not hot. Like standing in sunlight after winter. Her voice filled not just his mind— But everyone’s. Soft. Regal. Ancient.
In Alfheim, we do not knight with blades.
We knight with light.
She touched her brow gently to his forehead. A pulse of warmth flowed through him. Not power. Not strength. Just—Comfort. Home.
You carried me when I could not stand.
You shielded me when darkness hunted me.
You chose my life before your own safety.
Peter swallowed hard. Because he didn’t remember it being heroic. He just remembered being scared.
That is the heart of a guardian.
Her wings wrapped around him briefly. A glowing cocoon. Soft feathers. Safe.
Rise, Peter Parker.
Shield of Alfheim.
Friend of the Light.
My knight.
The light faded. He stood slowly. “…Wait.” He looked down. A small symbol now shimmered faintly on his glove. A tiny winged spider. Gold. Glowing softly. “…I got merch?!” The entire team groaned. Thor laughed loudly.
“A true warrior indeed.”
Sam: “BRO GOT A DLC SKIN.”
Danny: “It’s a sacred blessing, Sam.”
Luke: “Still looks cool though.”
Ava smiled at him. Soft. Proud. “You earned it.”
Peter rubbed the back of his neck.
“…I didn’t do anything special.”
Ava: “Yeah. You did.”
Arcturus gently bumped his shoulder.
You stayed.
He smiled at her. “…Yeah.” A beat. Then: “…So does this mean I get royal snacks now?”
Unlimited apples.
“…BEST. TITLE. EVER.”
Final Beat
They walked out together. Team Awesome bickering. Thor shaking his head fondly. Peter at Arcturus’s side, hand resting against her armor. Not because she needed help anymore. Just because—he liked being close. She brushed her wing against him lightly.
Thank you, little spider.
“…Always, Buttercup.” Sunlight poured across the courtyard. War behind them. Friends beside them. And for once—everything felt right.
