Continuing my streak of "Yall should write more Fuyumi stuff", have y'all thought about Shigaraki Tomura x SugarMommy!Todoroki Fuyumi? Like how funny that'd be!
Like, idk how they'd meet (online seems a bit too obvious), but we'd see their relationship progression through the LOV. Imo Fuyumi would be the only one of his kids Endeavour knowingly gives money to without a thought (both Shouto and Natsu just buy things with his credit card - Endeavour is vaguely aware but doesn't really care) because, let's be honest, there's no other way Fuyumi is getting his money while he's still alive, and she feels really guilty for spending it on herself because she doesn't feel like it's her money and she can support herself without help, so she just buys nice things for her boyfriend instead. And Tomura asks her for things that he'd be embarrassed about Sensei knowing and hearing about. So all the things she buys for him are kinda odd.
So it's just Kurogiri walking into Tomura's room and seeing 3 new computer monitors, but they're all playing Genshin Impact, because his last monitor was so old that it had trouble rendering the game, and Sensei said he wasn't buying him another one after he punched through the last one after failing to get a strawberry in Celeste for the hundredth time. And on his bed are just, so many pillows! Body pillows, plushies, even the weird non-comfy couch pillows, because he likes softness but doesn't think it's an evil enough trait.
And Fuyumi likes to get him stuff that takes care of him - so Spinner walks into the bathroom one day and sees Shiggy doing this really intense skincare routine with like five different creams, putting on lipbalm and an eyemask before going to sleep (and putting cream on his face-hands because "they deserve some too"). And Spinner's like "What you doing?" and Shiggy says, really seriously, "Preparing for war", because he remembers seeing Mirko flirting with Fuyumi, and he's like "I have to step up my game to keep her."
And sometimes Shiggy doesn't really want anything, so he asks for stuff for the League. He gets Kurogiri new fancy bartender equipment, Toga a bunch of cool rare knives, Dabi a medical grade staple gun and sanitising kit, Spinner a sun lamp. And they're all like "WTF? Who's leaving this here." And it brings them all closer when they figure out it was Shiggy (and everyone else just thought that his mysterious benefactor funded the gifts, but Kurogiri knows better, he knows that Sensei would've wanted a better reason than LOV gifts to give Shiggy more money, so did he just lie to Sensei? Where's he getting this money??)
And after a while, Fuyumi realises he'll do basically anything to keep dating her, so she's like "I want to go flamenco dancing, go with me or I'll stop paying for your Netflix subscription." (She's kidding(-ish)) So it's all of the league watching Tomura practising flamenco really badly in the bar (there wasn't enough space anywhere else), giving commentary like it's Strickly Come Dancing. And when asked why, he's like "my girlfriend wants to go" and they all think he's joking because no way does SHIGARAKI TOMURA have a girlfriend. (But Kurogiri is still suspicious 🤔).
Eventually they all realise Shiggy really doesn't want Sensei to find out about this (he already knows), so they start pressuring him to spend more time with them. "Play Mario Cart or I'll tell Sensei you have a massage chair." Something along those lines. And it works!
Then comes the time Shiggys going out in public to do some crimes, and he's in a completely different get up to canon. He's wearing a full bodysuit, a motorcycle helmet, and is as far from his usual style as possible. The LOV are like WTF, and he's like "Are you kidding me? I'm not losing my girlfriend over this stupid hit and run!"
(They get a "Leave Alone" list, where they can put people to not touch or hurt under any circumstances. The first picture up there is Fuyumi Todoroki.
((When Dabi sees that he spits out his coffee, because why is Fuyumi there??))
(((Kurogiri, quietly fist pumping: I knew it!))))
_______________________________
Personally, the only version of this I accept is one where Fuyumi isn't made into a manic pixie dream girl. Yeah, she likes introducing Tenko to new stuff and spending time with him, but it has to be Tenko who recognises what it means to be her boyfriend and treat her right, and he has to be one who goes the extra mile to be the SO Fuyumi deserves. If it's him being pushed into everything by her, it doesn't work. Fuyumi deserves at least one relationship she doesn't have to nag others to listen to or appreciate her. Fuyumi deserves to be pampered with attention and love, like how she's pampering Tenko with money.
And eventually, they start dating for real. Tenko decides he wants a life with her, and cleans himself up. He, somehow, gets a job (though there's not many hours and it doesn't pay much), tries to get his GEDs, tries to become a functioning member of society because he knows that Fuyumi wouldn't want to get married to a villain, and he can't imagine his future without her anymore. He does his time in jail, gets rehabilitated, then takes a jewellery making course because he's probably never going to be able to afford a proper ring for her.
He asks her on a normal day - he woke up late to work and she made him breakfast, with a kiss on the cheek and a milkshake, and it strikes him that he never thought he could have this, he never thought this could be something he'd enjoy, that he'd give up everything for. So even if he already had a plan forming for proposing (which included a whole day date, cherry blossoms, and an immense number of fireworks), he sits her down, takes the ring out of his sock drawer, and kneels down in front of her.
She says yes, and though Dabi, and Natsu, and Shouto, and Enji are all rightfully put off by the idea of them getting married, she's the happiest she's been for a long time.
And the first thing Kurogiri does when they meet on their wedding day, is thank her for making Tenko a better person.
Here are the fics that I’ve really enjoyed this year. All of these are complete. Enjoy!

Pairing: Bakugou/Kirishima
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 135,781
Summary:
Sero nods. “It’s the chance of a lifetime, really,” he says. “We want you to date Bakugou, for the sake of his reputation with the press. Some public appearances, a few ‘candid’ photos. For at least a couple of months.”
“Bakugou sent you to ask me to date him?” Kirishima asks, baffled.
“Of course not. We, his people, are asking you to date him. He’s going to have to get on board, if he wants his career to survive. And in the bargain, Riot will get all sorts of publicity, because their lyricist will be dating one of the industry’s hottest stars. A win for everyone.”
When Kirishima Eijirou's band hits the big time, he's not prepared for his newfound fame. He's even less prepared to meet the actor he's been crushing on for years, or to start dating him as a publicity stunt. The closer Kirishima gets to Bakugou Katsuki, the more he realizes he's in over his head. But it's hard to stop, once his heart is in it.

Dialing a wrong number was no unusual occurrence. Everyone did it once in a while, and Katsuki was well aware of that fact.
However, possessing this knowledge made it no less aggravating for him to discover — a full two minutes into his rant about his day — that he’d been venting his frustrations to a complete stranger. As if that wasn't enough, said stranger was also inexplicably determined to hear his story to its end.

“It’s just not manly to leave your bro like this, after knowing he can’t do anything about it, you know?” Kirishima blabbers some kind of bullshit excuse, and the worst part is that it looks like he’s totally convinced of it. “It’s just a— handjob,” he stumbles over the word, the weight of what he’s proposing hitting him all at once, but he doesn’t stop. “—but if you're not into it we can pretend I didn't just say that.”
Bakugou has to restrain himself from saying that he’s very much into it. Like, a lot, really.

Title: Love like a common cold
Author: supercrunch
Pairing: Bakugou/Ikuku/Yaoyorozu/Shouto
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 25,394
Summary:
Katsuki remembers it, vaguely; they’d gone out for patrol and immediately gotten mobbed by Uwabami’s rabid fans. Some guy asked for a hug. He had most of his face covered, and he wouldn’t let go even though Uwabami kept telling him to stop. Yaoyorozu had seen it and Katsuki had stepped in, yanking him off Uwabami but the guy grabbed him instead and-
“Wait,” he says as his brain catches up with his ears. “What?”
“He tried to attack Uwabami,” says Kestrel patiently. “But you and Bakugou got in the way and-”
“Me and Bakugou?” says Katsuki, digging his ears. “I’m Bakugou.”
(Katsuki and Momo get bodyswapped during their internship. It's terrible. Partly because of the weird new jiggly bits, but mostly because Momo now has to deal with Katsuki's giant, nauseating crush on Izuku Midoriya.
And Katsuki, unfortunately, has to deal with fucking Todoroki.)

Author: pretentiousashell
Pairing: Dabi/Hawks
Rating: Mature
Word Count: 41,935
Series: Part 1 of What though the field be lost? (Words: 55,178 - Works: 2)
Summary:
“I was always going to be able to corrupt myself a little too willingly for this mission, I guess,” he mused, more to himself than to Dabi, like a revelation that required a voice to be understood. “I can’t be their hero anymore.”
Dabi’s blood ran cold as he finally recognized the source of the discordance hanging over the confrontation. That Hawks didn’t look like a hero about to die for one of his stupid causes. No, he looked like a soldier. Proud. Condemned. Sightless. The flames in his hands sputtered and died at the confusion of it.
He knew the skeleton of Hawks’ history, knew enough to know the name he’d given up, a name ripped from his bones. He did not know enough to understand the picture before him.

When Hawks is declared dead, he and Dabi start to work together, for real this time.

“That’s fucking worse.”
Or,
Dabi has amnesia and keeps reading conspiracy theories about himself in an attempt to figure out who he is, gets the League in on it, and they dismantle organized crime, revolutionize society, and ravage the hero system in the process. Hawks suffers.

Her hands close over Fuyumi’s before she can protest, and the world flips upside-down until she’s suddenly somewhere else.
When Fuyumi gets hit by a quirk that body-swaps twins, she wakes up somewhere else—despite the fact that her twin died a decade ago. That’s confusing enough on its own, but why is she surrounded by villains?

Deku’s Hero Analysis is a series where the host, Deku, dresses up in official pro hero costumes, then does an analysis of each hero and reviews some of their merchandise. Joining him is Hito-nyan, the sarcastic cameraman who never shows his face and loves to push Deku’s buttons.
And watching them is pro hero Todoroki Shouto, who absolutely, without a doubt, does not have a crush on Deku.
Except actually he does, which is fine, because it turns out they have a friend in common and getting to meet the adorable YouTube star is more likely to happen than he ever would have dreamed.

Not to mention, Aizawa wouldn't stand for it anyway.

Title: Amalgamations of Ghosts
Author: pretentiousashell
Pairing: Aizawa/Shirakumo,Izuku/Shinsou
Rating: General Audience
Word Count: 23,782
Summary:
A fierce protectiveness rose up in him, stronger than the inclination to give substance to the void in his chest. Oboro thought that maybe if he held a mirror up to his heart, he’d see a rage at the injustice done unto him, a reflection of the stoniness creeping into Izuku’s face before him.
“I’m not going to forget what made me, but I’m also never going to be that thing again. I’ll read my books. I’ll make my coffee.”
A muscle in Izuku’s jaw jumped, and when he spoke again, it was with an uncertain, soft sort of bubbling anger that couldn’t be directed at anything but the inevitability of an unchangeable situation. “So, you give up your dream.”
“You find a new dream, Izuku.”

Title: decision height
Author: blueskiddoo
Pairing: Dabi/Hawks
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 58,946
Summary:
“Do I have a choice?”
“There’s always a choice.”
Hawks snorts. There’s the wrong choice, and then there’s the right one. He can make everything he’s done so far mean something, or he can throw it all away. If it comes out he’s been a double agent all along the League will fold in on itself and regroup, even less trusting than before. They won’t get an opportunity like this again.
*
When pictures surface of Hawks meeting with Dabi, he has to make a decision. Sacrifice his cover, or sacrifice his career.
It's not much of a choice.

Title: The Right Thing To Do
Author: Emily_Elizabeth_Fowl
Pairing: None
Rating: Teen
Word Count: 12,115
Summary:
“What was the question? Something about their quirk?”
Izuku’s shoulders dropped slightly.
“I asked them if someone without a quirk could become a hero.”
Stendhal-san snorted. Izuku’s shoulders nearly covered his ears. He knew, he heard it from All Might already, he didn’t need to have Stendhal-san repeat it, too-
“Obviously,” Stendhal-san said, leaning back on his arms. “Quirks are merely tools; plenty of heroes have perfect quirks and not an ounce of heroism in their blood. You’re already more of a hero than numbers 2 through 10, combined.”
Izuku could feel the tears slipping down his cheeks, sobbing at the words he had been yearning to hear for so long.
“Did they- did they not say that?” Stendhal-san asked, startled by Izuku’s reaction.
***
Or, in other words: the five times Izuku learned something about Stendhal-san, and the one time he got to use everything he knew.

“Heard about that, did you? Then again, I guess Endeavor’s kid working with the number two hero is pretty big news.” Hawks keeps his tone light and airy. “You his fan already? Want an autograph?” Dabi looks vaguely disgusted.
“For fuck’s sake, he’s fifteen.” Hawks tilts his head, not sure what that has to do with anything. He had fans at fifteen.
_____
Todoroki Shouto decides to accept when Hawks scouts him after the U.A. Sports Festival. Hawks isn't expecting Dabi to be so invested in this.
