i sat and thank for like five minutes and now i have an entire au

modern verse (kind of a greys anatomy au when u think abt it--)

xzy and wcq own a small family clinic that xm has always been very proud of. he loved being her little assistant and making sure her apothecary cabinet was in order (wcq is a pharmacist) it was inevitable that he wanted to go to medical school

very frustrating that his dean was Jiang XI who loved to push his buttons and was UNFAIRLY much harder on him than the rest of the students. CLAIMING he "knew what xm was capable of" and wanted to push him harder to see him "achieve his true potential" or whatever the fuck but if he really wanted xm to succeed then shouldnt he lighten up?

he DOES graduate and starts his residency (AT GUYUEYUE!!!! WHY GUYUEYUE!!!!!!!!!!!!) during his internship while trying to dodge jx he ends up rotating under HBN (general anesthesiologist) and finds he really likes working with anesthetics (it reminds him of being a kid and memorizing all of his mothers medicines and how theyre used) and hes good at it. hbn tells him so and he flushes (WITH PRIDE and NOTHING else.) every time.

xm wants to be an anesthesiologist bc he likes relieving people of their pain.

(hbn is an anesthesiologist for less... savory reasons 😈)
