To All My Followers
It would mean more than anything in the entire world if you could boost my other blog shiviwrites.tumblr.com I feel really strongly about the things that I’ve written there and it would mean everything if any of you could reblog some of my posts and try to boost some of the things I’ve written. This blog is really my side blog and that one really truly matters to me and what I think of the world. I would love it if you could help out. Thank you guys so much.
Thoughts from Ninth Grade History
World Wars are no place for women, but is that true? When you think we are weak, we come through. Will you doubt us, your mothers and wives? We are not only taught to sew. We fight back when we weep. We take care when you bleed. Who will watch you when you’re wounded, if World Wars are no place for women? We will care when you don’t, because we have children to feed and husbands to mend. We will not stop because you tell us to. We will go on despite your degradation because we have better things to do than listen to you tell us what we can not do.
Would a huge plague like the black plague be a spontaneous reaction? Like technically didn’t it start the same way a reactant-favored reaction does, where two systems at equilibrium found themselves together, caused a chaotic reaction, and evened out?
Peace
Peace is not the silence of the people, for that can be forced with death and destruction. Peace is the love of the people, and their willingness to be where they are with no outside force.
Making it in the New Age
Today I’ve been trying to find internships and just have been generally working on what I’m going to do with my future and I’ve found that being good doesn't cut it anymore. Trying to get an internship requires so much to have already been done that having the ethic and the ability to work on something for longer than five minutes doesn’t mean anything.
For example, during the winter I teach kids how to ski. Meaning I stand out in the snow, wind, and sun and very painstakingly teach kids how to put skis on, how to take them off, how to make the shape of a pizza with their skis and then repeat. Yet I still get minimum wage (not that I can complain honestly I love working with the kids) while other kids working in a store or babysitting get paid above minimum wage for doing next to nothing. of course in the end all of that is fine. I have a stable job that I work at and I like my coworkers and the kids, but then you think about college.
College costs an arm and a leg and they also expect you to have done more than anyone has done before you. College isn’t just something that you want to do to maybe get a higher paycheck or a general higher understanding of the world, college has become a thing that every person needs to get a job. Not only that, but college has become a business more than a place of learning. When you’re in college you have to worry about your classes and learning everything correctly, but you also have to think about what comes after college. How to pay off your debts etc.
I’m not telling anyone not to go to college, my PE teacher tells me that enough, but I am saying why and when did it become so hard for kids to want to do something with their lives? It’s like people are trying to discourage kids from doing what the like. Basically trying to get to “real life” is making me crazy because I’ve been living “real life” for the last sixteen years and I don’t think that it needs to be so difficult and expensive to keep living it.
I don’t know what I want to do in my life, and I’m afraid that I’ll keep going like that until I’m stuck doing something that I hate. I’m scared of myself more than I am of others and something about that is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever had to endure, but endure I will, until I can’t any longer.
Sometimes in the middle of the night when the wind howls through the trees and the branches knock against the side of the house, I wake up and pretend I'm in a movie, in a haunted house. I pretend I’m a hero, or an adventurer, or something else of the sort, and I get to be someone brave for a little while. Then a loud gust of wind will tug at the window panes and I’ll be scared again, like a child, of the monsters lurking in the shadows. My imagination can run wild in the dark of a windy night, just like the snow that I’ll wake up to in the morning. Even though I fear the wind, my imagination makes me forget that I am me and the world will change in the dark of the night and the fun of being awake is all in my mind, but that’s just fine by me.
