STOP SCROLLING AND READ THIS CAPTION: My ex husband called me fat and stopped being intimate. I weighed 10 pounds less than in this picture. Throughout my marriage my ex husband stripped me of my self confidence, day by day. Gas lighting and emotional abuse are often used by abusers. He told me that I was fat, and that I needed to loose weight or he would leave me. He said “I don’t want to sleep with that. No one would want to.” I believed him. I believed him that I was fat. I believed him that he would leave me. I believed him that no one would want me. I wanted to please my husband. I downloaded a calorie tracking app to help me loose weight. That’s also when I started waking up at 2am in the morning to go into the kitchen and binge eat while he was sleeping. When it was time to step on the scale he would get mad at why I didn’t loose any weight. After my marriage ended, I gained 35+ pounds within 4 months, because I was eating everything and started drinking. That’s when I was diagnosed being pre-diabetic. I started to make healthier food choices, quit drinking, and joined the gym (which I barely went to). I lost all weight I had gained mainly by changing my eating habits and by stopping to drink alcohol. I don’t believe in diets, I don’t believe in restricting yourself. I believe in being HEALTHY. I believe that WELL BALANCED NUTRITION IS THE KEY. Don’t ever let anyone tell you anything about your body. It’s YOUR BODY! Your body houses all your organs. Your body is keeping you alive. I needed this. . Sometimes I get so wrapped up in doing and pushing and my anxiety acts up and my heart won’t slow down and so I too, forget to slow down. . The ocean though, she always soothes me and reminds me to settle into the flow, to slow down, to rest, to nurture myself. . A good book, sand in my toes, and a nap was just what the dr. ordered. . .
