I'm a hypocrite who watched the stories of the modern warfare games and enjoy making the soldiers my imaginary barbie dolls. But I didn't watch much of the World War 2 game because idolizing white men from that era is just not something I can do easily. I'm a cringe selfish self shipper
And World War 2 is a very sad and very real period in time and not a fake bad guy evil dude like Makarov. From what I saw the beginning of the game tries to frame the war as very serious and over the heads of the characters
But now I'm listening to a video essay about how much COD revised history and specifically used the holocaust to frame the main guys character arc and actively changed lines based off real events to be more vague
And I am so consumed by rage. I should not be surprised at all. This is the military propaganda fandom. But making a cool guy in a ghost mask who fights made up Russians is different from changing a line from an ACTUAL HOLOCAUST EVENT just to be more vague and pro America
