while im already posting art, have another oc of mine! This is Showtune the furby, he is a shady information dealer and performer. He sells secrets and information and then gives them in the form of an old-timey song and dance number. He is a horrible little gremlin that spends all of his earnings feeding a raving poker addiction, and that makes him all the more fun to draw

So in Hong Kong we mourn for the passing of 譚炳文, a veteran performer, the most respected voice actor (whom help brought in Alfred Hitchcock’s movie to Hong Kong, voice acting in Cantonese)

Also, he is a prolific singer, released more than 30 albums in less than 10 years, gained tremendous popularity.

However, songs that made then in Cantonese are before what is regarded as “canto pop revolution”.  Before the “revolution” songs are more colloquial (with respect to the style of the music played, as well as the wordings) Hence he never gained the popularity he deserved as a singer.

Still it’s very enjoyable to hear it as it covered another life and time in Hong Kong.

This song’s melody is borrowed from a Cantonese folklore, played in western style instruments and arrangement, and it’s about a scenario where the duo saw all the respected actors in the Canto opera era then, and the lyrics are basically all of their names.
