Melkor: War? War is for children. Here we steal and take ownership of the loot...like the icons of masculinity we are
Silmarillion; more like, the fault in our Valar
In spite of all the fuss over Melkor’s quite reputable dark-lordish menacing figure, I for one have always had the tendency to picture him chilling in his domain with no care for the world around him, occasionally sipping from a drink in his hand -hardly ever ends up drunk because no amount of alcohol can possibly grow strong enough to shake his tolerance- and moves from place to place pointlessly. He is so laidback most of the time -except for when he’s really pissed off- and I imagine he gives random things popping to his head as orders and never really gives a fuck about strategy (what exactly is the point of all those servants then?). And whenever orcs are reporting their duties and bringing him news he zones out and instead focuses on the silliest detail that he probably haven’t noticed before -like an odor or a crack somewhere. When it comes to interrogating captives he just shows up for the sake of sentiments-definitely clad in a robe wearing nothing beneath with messy hair and dark circles under his eyes- all of which not in the slightest intimidating -yet scares the hell outta captives anyway- also holding an apple in his hand and biting from it time to time, and giving demands with his mouth full. He is the kinda Vala that you could become best friends with because he just is too damn cozy and fun to be around, and you feel no such distance as you do with other races -yet there’s always safe to keep a fine line just in case he suddenly has a change of heart. He can be unmerciful if need be but he also is too likely to get distracted by a shiny little object mid speech and dismiss the meeting simple as that. He is crazily possessive but also too emotionally fragile and lonely that sometimes all it takes for him to cool down is a hug. But a real tight one. Melkor is a lazy ass too drunk to fuck or fight Vala that wages wars merely to attract attention. If that’s not so pathetically and disgustingly yet undeniably adorable and oddly sweet I do not know what is. He is impossible to be taken seriously because he’s a domestic kitty with claws. He is too much, and still it’s not very hard to have him figured out.
