The most wonderful time of the year
This is for @kiranerysismyhero who asked for Kira/Miles/Keiko with Molly and Yoshi
Happy Holidays, Henry! I hope you enjoy!
“Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Nerys! Wake up! Santa came!” came two small voices from outside the bedroom door.
Groggily, Nerys turned over, giving Miles a quick shove before wrapping her arms around Keiko and burrowing into her warmth. “More sleep.” She groaned.
Miles sighed and slipped from bed, opening the door to over excited children.
“What did we tell you about waking us up before 5am?” he yawned.
“It’s 5:01, Daddy.” Molly said, hands on her hips while Yoshi nodded from behind the teddy bear he was clutching to his chest, failing miserably to hide his giggling.
“Oh and that makes so much difference.” Miles smiled, winking back at Keiko and Nerys as they peaked out from under the covers. “Well Mommy and Aunt Nerys are being slug-a-beds, think you can wake them up?” Miles whispered to them.
Both children nodded frantically and snuck up to the bed. Miles left the bedroom as dual roars and laughing shrieks filled the air, getting coffee, tea and a raktajino from the replicator, and a finger-food breakfast. Lots of fruit and toast before the kids dug into the chocolate that was hidden in their stockings.
A swish announced the arrival of his family in the main room of their quarters, Molly on Nerys’ hip while Yoshi clung to Keiko. Miles grinned at them and waved to breakfast.
“A lovely breakfast for us, and then…” he paused dramatically, eyes twinkling as the children bounced. “we get to go out and sing carols.”
“Nooooo Daaadddy!” both wailed.
“No?” Keiko asked. “Oh, I know: we go visit Dr. Bashir for flu shots.”
“Noooo! Aunt Nerys!” both children turned pleading eyes on the last adult in the room.
“Oh don’t look at me, this isn’t my holiday.” she laughed. “Mommy and Daddy know more about how things go than I do.”
“Presents!” Molly supplied, crossing her arms over her chest. “You said we could open them this morning.”
“Yeah, and Santa came. T’ stockins are all fulled up.” Yoshi pointed to the obviously overflowing red stockings sitting beside their sofa.
“Oh! How did those get there?” Miles jumped in fake-shock, hand on his chest. “Well I suppose if we did say we were opening them now, we should…now, hold on a minute…let everyone get their coffee and a seat.”
“I want to be giver, Daddy.” Molly said, reaching for a gift and reading the tag out loud. “Oh this one is for Mommy, from Aunt Nerys. And this one is for Aunt Nerys from Daddy.”
Molly handed out gifts and once everyone had their gifts, she and Yoshi tore into theirs in a flurry of shredded paper and delighted squeals. Toys were opened and hugs and kisses shared all around.
Curling back against Keiko, Nerys sighed happily, watching Miles help Molly put together her new doll house, Yoshi playing with his new ‘dragon’ plushie whose eyes lit up and roared.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Keiko asked, kissing her temple.
“I’m just happy.” Nerys sighed, closing her eyes. “Very happy.”
Keiko hummed in agreement, reaching up for the kiss Miles came over to give her once Molly was settled, smiling as he kissed Nerys too and settled in on her other side.
“Happy Christmas, my loves.” Miles murmured to them.
“Happy Christmas, Miles.” Nerys and Keiko whispered back.
