Get to Know Cordelia Barrie

Cordelia Barrie was named after a historical pirate princess– Or she was at least named after the Princess Cordelia bed that her parents had, but she likes telling her friends that it’s the first one. She never really knew her mom and dad, and she instead grew up with her grandparents in Sulani. This cemented in her a love for nature, and the idea that anybody could step up and be a parent.

If Sims could have five traits, Cordelia would for sure be a goofball that loves the outdoors. From setting small pranks around the house to pretending the volcano was ready to erupt for passing tourists, she had a mischievous streak. However, nothing could beat her scientific curiosity.

Now, a young adult, Cordelia has joined the conservationist career, and she is fully prepared to stop litterbugs, clean up, and survey wildlife. Plus, if she gets to enjoy the perks of beach life along the way, what’s the harm in that? She can’t wait to start her life.

Since I’ve had several people ask about the rest of Adrian’s family, here they are, in all their sappy Southern glory. Read past the cut for a little more background on Douglas, Minnie, and Adrian!

Hailing from the verdant countryside hills of Appaloosa Plains in Simmassee, the Stewart clan is among the last vestiges of the landed Southern gentry. Despite his wealthy ancestry, Douglas was born into a destitute family whose only possessions included a 15-acre plot of land and a decaying manor house they could no longer afford to maintain. Luck would have it that he found an old guitar while scavenging in the cellar one day, eventually honing his skill and becoming one of the most well-known guitarists in the region. Initially in a small band, he set out on a solo career after discovering his talent for singing and songwriting as well; over the course of decades, he went from playing small gigs to packing arenas, making a name for himself as a pop culture icon and country music legend. With the fabulous wealth he acquired through his fame, he was able to return to Appaloosa Plains and restore the Stewart estate to its former glory, and raise a family there, too. He’s defined by his straightforward, no-BS attitude, commanding presence, and rich, sonorous voice.

Monica “Minnie” Stewart is his loyal companion -- they’ve been married ever since Douglas was playing sets in local bars for $50 a show. President of the Appaloosa Ladies’ Society and chairwoman of the Music In Schools Foundation, she refuses to take a backseat role or rest on her husband’s laurels. Even on top of her professional duties, she raised Adrian without the help of a nanny, finding time to cook every night and keep her son company while Douglas was away on tour. Now that Adrian is all grown up, she spends her time organizing galas and events for charities, universities, and other causes all around the country, as well as promoting the progressive ideals of the “New South”. In a town where a housewife is a standard fixture of the home, Minnie is anything but. Her unwavering devotion to her family, sunny disposition, and role as an endless well of local gossip from which to draw makes her a great person to have a conversation with.

Finally comes Adrian, the only child of Douglas and Minnie. While his upbringing was far more blessed than that of his father, he’s fairly laid-back and down-to-earth. Some would say that he’s just as musically-talented as his father, and he’s using this talent to launch his own career as a famous singer. He loves nothing more than having a good time, be it relaxing by the pool, hitting the club, or indulging in some good old-fashioned Southern comfort food. Meet my “Struggle Sim”, Dahlia Bowery. The only cheat I am using is to take away money. She is currently without a job or roof over her head as I started with 0$. She is trying to make her way in this world by digging up crystals to sell, taking servings of food from picnics, napping on par benches and showering at the gym. Sometimes she swipes food and items to keep going. 

Currently she has fallen in love with Don Lothario and has moved into his home for some stability. She has taken a liking to certain creature comforts such as bubble baths and looks forward to growing out her hair and getting some new clothes. However, as time wears on she is finding herself feeling more and more smothered by the 4 other people living in the home. At her core she is a free spirit with a lot of love to give and doesn’t think she will last being cooped up like this.

Dahlia has $1,104 saved up now and feels she may be close to carving out her own little corner in the world. Will she stay with Don? Will she break away and breath the free air? Has the nights she has spent with Don led to a surprise waiting around the corner? 

Seriously the Sims is way too easy sometimes and it takes impossible situations to make it difficult so this is my best go.

Suitours for Mist Lace!

Grape and Guava Flora.

Grape and Guava are twins, but they couldn't be more different. Whilst the twins were born different colours they both have birthmarks reflecting the others skin tone. They both chose to go into law enforcement and make a great team.

Grape has a bad boy persona whereas Guava is more gentle. This makes them great at the classic ‘good cop bad cop’ game and they are both valued members of the windenbeurg police force.
