How would you sort Simon with SHC ?
What a fun ask, thank you!
Ok so… I think Simon is a Lion primary. I think he is someone who finds it very very important to be true to his own self and his sense of right/ wrong/ morality.
I get that this can sound a bit of an odd thing to say about someone who has essentially built his entire online presence on a foundation of uncertainty (anything he says about who he is and what he does might or might not be true.) But even within that, he always seems to try to make sure the situation is clear. “This is an experiment. You need to decide if you believe it or not.” He is someone that will not compromise on who he shows himself to be, even when it causes him hurt or problems. It’s ok to bend or be flexible on some things, but others, you don’t touch. Some things are right, and you WILL stand for them no matter what. Actually, the times I’ve seen Simon be prickly or sharp with people tend to be times where this inner morality is challenged or misunderstood or misrepresented by someone. Here is a more in depth analysis on Lion primaries.
My caveat is that I do get very Snake vibes some times, especially when it comes to “his people” and times when he has burned. I’m not sure if this would make him a Snake with a Lion model, or a Lion whose moral system involves being a carer and protecting his people, or if it’s down to the fact that Snakes on “neutral” can look very much like Lions, or if it is just because I’m a double Snake myself, and I find the “snakey” aspects of people’s personality most relatable. Here is some more detail about Snake primaries, so you can draw your own conclusions. I’m more inclined to say Lion with a very loyal and protective aspect to his moral code, though.
For his secondary, I would sort Simon as a Bird. He is *literally* a collector. He collects objects, he collects information, and he is also the “I know a guy” type. He is a self-described mimic, but I think he draws on his experiences and observations of people for that (so Rapid Fire Bird rather than Snake.) I’ve seen how he processes finding out he was wrong about a belief and he does it in a very Bird way, too. Pause, gather information, take time to process if needed, reassess, if needed change course. And I think that this is something he takes pride in doing, not something he does reluctantly. Here is some more about Bird secondaries
I don’t know if others agree with my sorting and I’d love to hear what you think, and how *you* would sort Simon if your sorting is different to mine.
@simonalkenmayer I’m curious to hear what you think about this too, hopefully I’ve not said anything offensive or been very wrong… Do correct me though, if I have!
