The following foods and herbs can be good for sinusitis:
Basil is good for sinus congestion.
You can make an Italian pasta, Spaghetti alla Genovese with basil.
You will need the following ingredients:
– 0,75 dl/ 0,3 cup extra virgin olive oil
– 2 bunches of fresh basil leaves
– 4 tablespoons of pine nuts
– 50g/ 1,8 oz grated Parmesan cheese or Grana Padano cheese or Pecorino cheese
– 500g/ 1,1 pounds of spaghetti
– 50g/ 1,8 oz grated Parmesan cheese on top when you serve it
Cook the spaghetti. Toast the pine nuts. Grind half of it for the pesto, the other half will go on top when you serve the dish. Wash and chop the basil and the garlic. Blend the pine nits, the cheese, the basil and the garlic. Salt it to taste. Serve the cooked spaghetti with the pesto, and put some ungrinded pine nuts and some grated Permesan cheese on top.
– Elderflower (Sambucus nigra):
You can make arugula salad with pomegranate, sheep milk cheese and elderflower vinegar.
You will need the following ingredients:
– 1 smaller shallot onion
– 50g/ 1,8 oz sheep milk cheese
– 3 tablespoons of olive oil
– 1 tablespoon of elderflower vinegar
– pepper and salt to taste
To make elderflower vinegar put 10 elderberry flowers in 2 cups (5 dl) of apple cider vinegar. Let it stand for 2 months. It is ready when the vinegar becomes light amber-colored. Steep the vinegar. Now you can use it.
Chop and mix the vegetables, peel the pomegranate, then put the chopped sheep milk cheese and pour it with olive oil and elderflower vinegar. Add salt and pepper to taste.
You can make apple slices in pancake batter with cinnamon.
You will need the following ingredients:
– 1 dl/ 0,4 cup of sparkling mineral water
– 1/2 tablespoon of sugar
– icing sugar, cinnamon to taste
Blend the flour, milk, eggs, water and sugar, and you will get the pancake base. Peel and cut the apples. Dip the apple slices in the pancake base. Fry them with a minimal oil. Sprinkle the fried apple slices with icing sugar and cinnamon.
