Sirius tried to relax his posture. The collar tightened around his neck, tugging upward—not enough to strangle him, but enough to make every breath slightly harder. The thick leather muzzle did not help either, but biting down on the bit inside his mouth let him focus on sensations other than the countless ropes wrapped around his body, cutting off his circulation and binding him to the chair, or the claws of hunger tearing through him from within, as though his own guts were devouring themselves.
If anyone had ever asked Sirius for his opinion—which had never happened in almost ten years—he would have said this was completely insane, utterly ridiculous; but to Graus, his owner, it made perfect sense.
"What have I told you about following the rules?" the man said, feigning calm despite his icy blue eyes burning with fury. He had caught Sirius resting on one of his luxurious upholstered chairs, part of a new dining set he had imported a few weeks earlier from the other side of the globe. "Animals are not allowed on the furniture."
Sirius tried to explain himself. Foolishly, because it was obvious no one would listen when he was barely allowed to speak. He had only been sitting there for a few seconds!
"Since you enjoy sitting on chairs so much," Graus declared, "I hope you enjoy your stay here for the next eight hours."
How much time had already passed? Locked inside that windowless room, empty except for the hard wooden chair and himself, there was no way to know for certain, but if he had to guess, judging by the hunger gnawing at him, at least two mealtimes must have already passed.
Struggling was pointless. There were enough ropes to immobilize a wild tiger, winding around his arms and legs while cinching tightly across his chest. Graus truly enjoyed exaggerating his punishments, always boasting about having "a firm hand."
He spent the following hours drifting in and out of dissociation until the door finally opened and his owner stepped inside.
"Did you learn your lesson?" he asked, stopping in front of him with a faint smile.
As best he could, Sirius tried to nod and make a confirming sound behind the muzzle.
"Good."
The man ordered someone to untie the boy before dragging him back to his cage.
"This is where you belong," he said in farewell, slamming the barred door shut. He did not lock it, that was part of the test, one Sirius had no intention of failing again. Instead, he curled into himself and hugged his old pillow. It smelled faintly of sweat and worn laundry soap, but to him it was the closest thing to peace he had ever had. His body ached from hours in the same agonizing position, and despite his empty stomach, it did not take long before he fell asleep.

"Where are we going, Mom?"
Her mother didn’t answer. Sirius settled into the back seat of the old car, looking out the window. They hardly ever went out anywhere as a family, so he was pretty nervous.
"We’re going to see a new place!" Estela said, sitting beside him. Her tail twitched behind her back, a clear sign of her good mood. Seeing her happy made Sirius smile too.
It didn’t matter where they were going, as long as he and Estela were together.
A year ago, the twin siblings had turned into chimera children. Things at home had gotten more tense: their mother had pulled them out of school and kept them locked inside most of the time. She was also spending less time at home, and when she did come back at night, she reeked of alcohol.
She had never been the most affectionate or understanding mother, always busy trying to raise two unwanted children on her own, with little support from her family. Money was tight, and the rumors in the neighborhood never stopped spreading.
That’s why Sirius was surprised when their mother came home early that afternoon and told them to get in the car.
"Where are we going, Mom?"
She didn’t reply.
They drove silently through unfamiliar streets. From time to time, the twins exchanged glances and smiles, without needing to say anything out loud.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a run-down building. It was already dusk. The place was deserted—no other cars or people in sight.
Their mother got out of the vehicle. The way she kept looking around made her seem nervous, almost scared. Sirius took the chance to sniff the air but only smelled dust and iron.
"Follow me," their mother said, walking ahead.
The children obediently followed her.
Someone met them on the other side of the door, a rough-looking stranger.
"These are the ones?" he asked in a malicious tone.
Sirius felt a chill run down his spine. The way the man looked at him and his sister made his skin crawl. He had the urge to bite him.
"Yes, these are them," their mother replied quickly. She smelled of sweat and anxiety. Seeing her like that made Sirius start to worry. What was really going on?
They were led into the building. The man took them to a room that looked like a clinic.
"Did we come to see the doctor?" Estela asked, speaking directly to their mother. Her cheerful mood had vanished, replaced by suspicion.
"They’re just going to check you," the woman replied. "Just do as you're told."
The twins exchanged looks. They agreed it was best to obey.
While the doctor examined them—focusing mainly on their dog-like ears, their long tails, and their fangs—the twins' mother spoke quietly with the first man in another room.
When the checkup ended, the doctor walked over to the man and whispered something in his ear. The man nodded.
"We’ve got a deal," he said afterward, handing a check to the twins’ mother and shaking her hand firmly.
The fear never left the woman’s face, but once she had the check in her hands, it seemed like the weight she was carrying began to lift. She stood up from the seat where she had been waiting and rushed toward the exit.
"Mom! Where are you going?" Estela called after her, but the woman didn’t even look back.
Sirius felt his gut clench, and an alarm went off in his head telling him to run, to get out of there.
"Let’s go, puppies," the man said with a smile.
Before Sirius could react, strong arms grabbed him from behind. Something pricked his neck, and suddenly his whole body stopped responding.
"Sleep tight," said a voice—the last thing he heard before losing consciousness.
When Sirius woke up, they were moving. The air smelled of gasoline, strangers, and Estela. He opened his eyes, but everything was dark, as if he’d gone blind. He shifted and found himself lying curled up on a hard surface. He stretched out a hand and felt thin metal bars.
Little by little, reality took shape in his mind, like a nightmare becoming real. Sirius began to scream, banging on the bars of the small cage.
"Sirius!" his sister’s voice called out from somewhere nearby in the darkness. "What are they going to do to us?"
He didn’t know either. And he didn’t want to find out. He was terrified.
After a long while, the vehicle stopped. The compartment door opened, temporarily blinding the children. People climbed in and lifted the cages, carrying them somewhere that also reeked of fear—a place filled with screams and cries.
They entered a warehouse full of cages, each containing a person, or rather, a chimera.
Sirius’s mind struggled to process everything. He remembered hearing the neighbors say that chimera children ended up on the black market, sold like animals.
Eventually, someone took Sirius out of his cage. The boy immediately tried to run, but didn’t get far before they caught him. He bit the fingers of those trying to restrain him, causing them to shout.
"We’ve got a wild one!"
Sirius could only think of Estela. Someone had taken her from her cage too and was pulling her away. The girl bit her captor, but got a punch to the face in return that knocked her to the ground.
"Stupid mutt."
"Leave my sister alone!"
Sirius ran at the man, trying to bite him, but was stopped before he could get close.
"Quick, bring a muzzle!"
Suddenly, something was shoved into Sirius’s mouth, crushing his lips. No matter how much he shook his head, he couldn’t loosen the straps that held the muzzle in place, keeping him from shouting or biting. His hands were tied behind his back, and his ankles bound together.
They did the same to Estela, then threw both children into a new cage, barely big enough to fit them curled up together, ignoring their screams.
Time began to pass. Many people came through the warehouse, examining each cage and its contents. Some of them ended up buying chimeras, leaving more and more cages empty.
At dawn, the caretakers allowed the prisoners to drink a little water, eat a small amount of food, and relieve themselves before locking them up again in their tiny prisons, where they would remain until the market reopened at night.
Three days went by.
Estela cried a lot. When she slept, she called out for their mom. Sirius could only hold her and cry with her. Thinking about their mother brought a deep pain to his heart, which over time began to turn into rage. He didn’t have a mother anymore. Now he only had Estela.
"Do you think we’ll always be together?" his sister asked once, as they tried to fall asleep in their little cage. The bruise from the punch she’d received on the first day had already started to fade.
"I’ll fight anyone who tries to separate us," Sirius said.
They lay there. The warehouse ceiling blocked any view of the sky, so they imagined a clear blue sky above their heads, pretending they were back in the yard, lying in the grass, laughing and dreaming of a perfect world—one where they could always be together.
"I want that one."
Someone opened the cage, grabbed Estela, and began to drag her away.
No matter how much the children screamed, kicked, or struggled, nothing stopped them from being torn apart. Sirius watched with his heart in his throat, clinging to the thin metal bars, as a stranger took his sister away forever.
From that moment on, Sirius was completely alone.
A week passed.
Sirius had lost weight. Curled up in his cage, he looked like a starving stray dog. By now, he probably even smelled like one.
Since being left alone, Sirius had lost all will to fight. He no longer tried to bite or escape—he only ate what they gave him to stay alive, then lay down again in a cage that now felt far too big and empty.
Customers kept coming and buying more chimeras. When they reached Sirius, they barely spared him a disgusted glance before moving on.
Eventually, the boy began to believe he really would die in that cage. No one was going to buy him. And who would want to? He was just an unremarkable kid—a dog chimera. Not cute or exotic. Who would want him, when not even his mother had?
Estela had been taken because she was a girl. Sirius had overheard people in the black market say that the females were always the first to be bought. The boy didn’t want to think about it. Thinking about what might be happening to his sister—what he couldn’t do anything to stop—only made him want to die even more.
And one day...
"Well, what do we have here?"
A tall man stopped in front of his cage. His blue eyes were piercing, like a clear sky. Sirius almost believed those eyes could see through him—through his soul and his mind.
"Just a dog, sir, nothing too flashy," the seller said. "If you're looking for young chimeras, we have some lovely reptiles over there..."
"A male pup," said the man with the blue eyes, as if he hadn’t heard a word the seller had just said. "I want him."
In an instant, Sirius went from being in a cage at the black market to being in an even smaller cage, inside the trunk of that mysterious man’s vehicle.
"My name is Graus, and I’m your new owner. Now, let’s go home, little pup."

DAY 10: Forced to watch/"Stop!"
CW: Reference pet whump, multiple whumpees, whipping, forced to watch someone else get hurt, bound and gagged, chains, blood and injuries, shock collar, guilt.
"Stop!"
The cry was swallowed by the sharp crack of leather striking flesh.
Blood spattered across the white ceramic floor.
"Stop, stop, please, please stop, I’m sorry!"
Graus lowered the arm holding the whip and turned his head, fixing the tiger boy with a glassy stare.
"Did you say something?" he asked.
"Please..."
Tigri felt his heart twist in on itself. Those pale blue eyes cut through his chest like daggers. He shifted, planting his feet firmly against the ground as his tail lashed restlessly behind him. The chains binding his wrists above his head rattled softly. A shaky breath slipped past his lips.
"Please," he said, forcing steadiness into his voice even as something inside him cracked. "Stop hurting him. It’s not his fault."
Graus made the whip snapped against the floor. A warning.
Tigri flinched at the sound. He could almost feel it tearing into his own skin, ripping flesh, drawing blood. Madame Lavenza had never whipped him, but the mere thought made his stomach churn. Right now, though… he would have preferred it.
Just a few meters ahead, Sirius hung limp from his own chains.
The dog boy’s knees had buckled, unable to support his own weight any longer and letting it drag painfully on his wrists, raw and bleeding. His bare chest shuddered with ragged breaths forced through his nose. Layers of silver duct tape sealed his mouth, wrapped tightly around his head. Blood from the lash marks trailed down his skin, streaking over old scars and fresh wounds alike.
"You’ve caused my sister a great deal of trouble," Graus said calmly, cold and composed. "She wanted you punished properly, but she didn’t want to damage that ‘pretty’ face of yours. So I came up with something better."
He stepped up beside Sirius. The boy kept his gaze fixed on the floor, avoiding his master at all costs. Graus grabbed his chin and forced his head up, turning it toward Tigri.
"My sister told me about your little game," he continued. "About your… interactions. Seems you care about my dog, don’t you? Are you actually fond of this thing?"
His grip tightened on Sirius’s face, who let out a muffled, pained sound.
"Enough," Tigri snapped through clenched teeth. Rage burned hot in his chest, but Graus continued speaking in that cold, detached tone as if he hadn’t spoken.
"When I heard that, I thought… what’s the best way to punish a disobedient pet without harming it directly?" He paused. "Simple. Hurt something it cares about instead."
The whip cracked against the floor again.
"Stop!" Tigri shouted, struggling uselessly against the chains.
A faint smile curved Graus’s thin lips. It was obvious he enjoyed watching his victim suffer.
"Let this be a lesson."
He released Sirius and stepped back, raising his arm. The whip sliced through the air before wrapping around Sirius’s ribs with a sickening snap, leaving a vivid red welt behind. Sirius’s scream of agony was smothered by the gag, his body jerking violently as the chains rattled.
Tigri screamed and pleaded until his voice gave out, fought until his wrists burned raw, until helpless tears streamed pathetically down his face.
Unable to do anything but watch the torture unfold before his eyes, Tigri finally accepted his punishment.
"I’m sorry!" he cried. "I’m sorry, I won’t do it again, I won’t try to escape! I’m sorry, I’m sorry!"
At last, after several more minutes, Graus stopped. He wiped his forearm across his forehead, cleaning away the beads of sweat from the effort and turned back with a satisfied look.
"My sister will be pleased."
He walked to a table by the wall and pressed a button on a remote.
The shackles around the chimera’s wrists snapped open.
The moment he was free, Tigri moved on instinct, lunging at Graus with claws bared. The man didn’t even flinch, he just pressed another button. Pain exploded through Tigri’s body and he collapsed, writhing as electricity surged from the collar around his neck.
"Stupid animal," Graus muttered. With one last look of contempt, he left the room, locking the door behind him.
The current faded. Gasping, Tigri pushed himself up on shaking arms. His mind burned with images of Graus and Lavenza—their disgusting faces, their cruelty, the overwhelming urge to tear their throats out with his teeth—but then he heard it. A weak, uneven breath behind him. And all his hatred vanished.
"Sirius!"
He rushed to him, gathering the collapsed boy into his arms. The sight of so much blood made his stomach twist, but he forced it down, careful not to worsen his fellow prisoner’s injuries. Gently, he helped him sit up against the wall and began peeling away the tape from his mouth until Sirius could finally gasp for air.
The sight of him made Tigri’s vision blur.
"I’m sorry…" he whispered, voice defeated.
Sirius murmured something incoherent.
"What?" Tigri leaned closer.
Slowly, Sirius opened his chocolate-brown eyes and focused on Tigri’s golden ones.
"J-just…" he rasped. "Just… be a pet."
His brows drew together. It was clear he was in agonizing pain, yet he still forced himself to make his words heard.
"Just… be a pet" he repeated.
"I can’t—" Tigri said.
"Shut up," Sirius growled through clenched teeth, cutting him off. He panted, each word costing him superhuman effort. "Don’t try to escape again. It’s useless… Just… be a pet. That’s all… that’s all…"
His head slumped forward, falling against Tigri’s chest.
Tigri bit down hard on his tongue. Guilt, rage, helplessness… all those feelings churned inside him, devouring him from within. He wanted to scream, to cry, to destroy something, to kill…
But none of that mattered. Not now. Not when Sirius was in his arms.
Not when Sirius was hurting, suffering, because of him.
"I’m sorry…" he whispered.
"Idiot," Sirius murmured faintly.
Tense silence stretched between them. And then, barely audible:
"Don’t leave me…"
Sirius felt so small against him. So fragile.
"I won’t," Tigri said, pulling him closer.
But deep down, he didn’t know if that was a promise he could keep.
