the ending of Revenge of the Sith is just a myth
I think people weren’t paying attention when they watched the films because some people will deadass question whether Padmé understands how “dangerous” Anakin is or fully understands who he is.
You know that scene in the Lars’ garage that made a lot of people uncomfortable? that’s intentional.
Padmé sees Anakin at his rock bottom: his absolute worst. She understands every aspect of him because she’s really the only one who gets to see the depths of him; the only one Anakin feels comfortable completely opening up to. Not Obi Wan. Not any of the Jedi. She has FULL understanding of what he is capable of after the Tusken massacre, but she decides that he’s more than that; that Anakin is more than his worst moments. Yes folks, she has full understanding of who she’s putting a ring on. She had a front row seat to all of his highs and lows. George Lucas could have written the film in a way that doesn’t reveal everything to her. But he explicitely writes the film in a way that gives her that awareness, so any narrative that suggests that she’s clueless is false.
There’s nothing ambiguous about how she sees or understands who Anakin Skywalker is.
Furthermore, years down the road, after he makes a deal with the devil out of desperation and commits horrible crimes, she’s distressed by it and puts her foot down that he can’t continue down that path if she’s to remain. BUT she pleads with him to run away with her even with full understanding of what he’s done. Again, she has FULL UNDERSTANDING of what he is capable of during this scene. What makes Mustafar truly different from any other time point is that Anakin’s intentions become twisted by the dark side and he offers her something she would never ask for, but she remains steadfast in her belief in his inherent goodness, of who he really is deep down (you know the plot that’s fulfilled with Luke in ROTJ). She can’t follow his dark path, but she’s willing to leave the republic and galaxy in ruins for them to remain together if she could just get him off mustafar and away from anyone else (though she’s tragically interrupted).
Padmé is the only one who truly knows who Anakin Skywalker is. She’s just as attached to him as he is to her, and it’s weird to see anyone question that or suggest otherwise.
Rebuild the Galaxy granting my access to my long wished Anidala reunion and Skywalker family bonding moment isn’t something I ever knew I could be gifted and now I can’t stop sobbing.
“Oh 😳 Anakin 😏”
And this stupid ass yet beautiful scene between the Skywalkers 😭
because the sand line was always a metaphor for how anakin felt about himself and then how he felt around padmé.
Art I made based on @galactic-rhea’s role swap au 🫶
Padme managing to bring Anakin back from the Dark Side by the power of pregnancy hormones. Not in a "she manages to beat the Sith out of him and tells him off" way,but in a "she loses all composure and is a huge mess" way.
It happens this way:because of the circumstances,Padme's trainings that require self-control(diplomacy,martial arts, piloting) all desert her. Between the fall of the republic, the fact that Anakin basically became Palpatine's sicario/enforcer due to not wanting Padme to die, pregnancy shenanigans, possible temporary force sensitivity(she's carrying the children of the most powerful force user ever,in terms of midichlorian account) AND Anakin's being drunk on the Dark Side(she probably feels part of his feelings) - she's reduced to a blubbering, unhinged mess.
Then,Anakin manages to (somewhat) shake off the Dark Side high. Padme starts to make an incoherent rant about how everything went to shit, how she was useless and only made things worse... Anakin can't think of anything other than comforting his wife and take her away from that lava planet.
Anyways,we need more Padme whump in this economy.
(On a tangent,Anakin kills Palpatine by punting him out of a window. The Chosen One prophecy wasn't about destroying the Sith,it was about giving Sidious a stupid death)
I drew Padme because I love her because there are no valid reasons to hate her and everyone needs more Padme in there life
