SENIOR YEAR.

When the privileged halls of West Naboo High is left in ruins after a devastating natural disaster, its displaced students are forced to merge with underfunded Tatooine Ridge — igniting tensions that ripple far beyond the classroom. Among them is Padmé Naberrie with her perfect grades, track superstardom, and a future mapped out down to the smallest detail. Though, when her parents open their home to earthquake survivors Anakin Skywalker and his mother? Padmé’s carefully controlled world begins to crack even further. Forced under the same roof, these two find themselves on opposite sides of class, identity and expectation. Yet it is in the quiet moments of their shared dépaysement that something unexpected takes root.

This was made for the @anidalaweeks 2026 event! Particularly the last free day that I’m utilising for my 2000’s prompt ❤️

Ahh teen dramas of the early aughts — e.g. One Tree Hill, The OC, Roswell, etc. — where everything felt like a melodramatic soap opera that leaned into our favourite tropes: unlikely circumstances and clashing social worlds being the most common amongst them. Don’t even get me started on the music!! I remember my older sister’s CD collection being full of their OST’s and legitimately? These shows introduced some of the greatest bangers I still listen to today.

Their destiny has been rewritten… but survival was never the only goal. When the Galactic Republic falls, Padmé and Anakin must now work together to challenge a ruthless Empire — forging new (and old) alliances along the way.

“You seem to think this is just a matter of drawing a line in the sand,” Anakin says “of standing your ground like that’s going to change anything.” She falters at the look on his face, unable to tell whether it’s dismissal or perhaps even… fear? Either way, his voice grows no less firm. “You’re fighting a losing battle.”

Another man might have let the discussion die there and gone on his merry way back to much safer options. Padmé is no man, however. Her chin lifts a degree without shame. “Nothing is inevitable.”

“You must be more careful.”

At the sound of his Queen’s voice, Sir Anakin too stops just several paces away from her. The tension he held earlier had not yet left him and now here — in this narrow corridor where no prying eyes would demand restraint — it sharpens into something even more visible. “Nobody saw me come this way.” Though a bitter note threads through his voice as he continues “I fear I cannot abide by the way they speak to you.”

This dark-haired stranger isn’t just ridiculously beautiful — she’s also focused in a way that makes everything else feel somewhat unreal.

For a second? Anakin forgets how to exist in a conversation… or at all. “Hi,” is all he manages as their gazes lock for perhaps a beat too long.

Her mouth curves, curious but still polite. “Hello.”

LOVE NEVER DIES… BUT IT CAN COME BACK WRONG.

After Padmé Naberrie and Anakin Skywalker are brutally murdered, the city turns a blind eye — but some secrets are not meant to stay buried. Mysteriously, he returns to prowl the streets, driven by a single purpose. Vengeance. Those responsible will answer for what they did. The only problem is these same gangsters have also found a way to resurrect his wife and twist her into an unrecognisable weapon for themselves. As their paths collide in a world that breeds monsters, fragments of Padmé’s past begin to fight back against the violence controlling her every move. Will Anakin help her remember who their real enemies are? Can they save each other, once and for all?

This was very much inspired by ‘The Crow’ (1994) because a) I love that film and b) nothing screams 90’s to me like grunge music and the antihero story becoming so much more prevalent in mainstream media — Eric Draven, Blade, Faith Lehane, etc. In any case, I decided to post this on @anidalaweeks first free day because I’ve made some stuff for every time period in tomorrow’s prompt!
