Messy hair, little drops of blood slowly rolling down their face and arms, a dark look in their eyes that you're all too familiar with now. They've done something sinister perhaps, maybe it was for a reason they felt justified in, either way, they take you into their arms in a tight, long embrace, hoping you won't take them for a monster.

They might not yet know that you don't see them that way, but you'll return the embrace, feeling comfort in the way you know in absolute that they love you. You question if it's right, and they do too, but right now, all you can think of is how much you love each other.

The darkness within them will just have to wait.

Evil Slasher Orphanage Backstory/Order

I'm a sick little creature who doesn't have the attention span to read fanfiction right now and I'm very sad about it so here's my backstory for the evil slasher orphanage! It doesn't fit together with their canons so don't worry about it too much but this is the vibe

Brahms is my original baby: I took the nanny position and made friends with him, but didn't want to stay in England, so we bought a farm in 'merica and moved over there: we do farm chores together and have a good amount of privacy and it's nice

Sadako was the next to show up, fleeing from her dad during a show of her mother's psychic abilities. I found her running through the fields and took her in, and she stayed with us.

Michael was third: tried to steal our truck, I was the one who caught him in the act. Took him a while to stop trying to kill me, but I'm pretty difficult to catch: it was harder keeping Brahms and Sadako from getting at him the one time he actually managed to stab me.

Anyways, eventually he figured out that the place was safe and settled down and we had a little family of four for a while.

Lester Sinclair was around our community and I knew him peripherally, I guess he figured out what was happening at our farm and came to dump his younger brother off after he killed Vincent's twin in a family fight.

Vincent was a bit catatonic without his twin for a while: took a lot of care and time before he came back to life.

Sadako was the one who found Carrie: she was running through the fields, just like Sadako when I first found her. Sadako brought her to the house and the two of them are pretty close: I think having someone to protect helps Carrie to feel settled in the house.

Jason was living in one of our barns for a while, none of us minded too much, I basically coaxed him in like a stray cat and then started giving him farm chores.

And then there are the new teens! Billy and Stu crashed a police car in one of our fields trying to get away from the cops: huge hassle of a coverup for the whole house and both of them needed a bunch of medical attention. By the end of it, we ended up with Billy in our house because he was on a wanted list and Stu had managed not to get unmasked so he splits time between our house and his parents'. We're all adjusting to the new members, especially having someone from The Outside World that visits and then leaves.

Vincent has always been detail-oriented. It doesn’t take him long to notice the lattice of raised scars across your thighs, dark and angry, some thicker than others. When he discovers them, he pauses, tilting his head at you and approaching. He hovers over you for a moment, hesitant, considering, before sitting beside you.

In shorts and a loose tee to fend off the hot, Louisiana summer, your scars are on full display. Vincent’s fingers ghost over them, a rare noise of discontent coming from him, perhaps involuntary. You shiver despite the heat, goose flesh rising. He draws back, finally looking up at you with sadness swimming in his clear blue eye. You can’t help but look away, shoulders drawing up. Before you can explain yourself, he gently presses a finger to your lips. When he draws it away, he begins to sign, body language earnest.

« I know how you feel. I am so sorry someone or something made you feel that much pain and hopelessness. » He pauses, hesitating a moment before he reaches for the hem of his light sweater, exposing a smooth, pale stomach. Dark hair trails down from his belly button and disappears under the lip of his jeans. It takes you a moment to recognize pale, thin scars that decorate his stomach and upper hips. You catch your breath, instinctively reaching to touch, to comfort. He doesn’t fight, leaning back as your fingers trail across his scars, old and faded.

“What happened?” You say, voice only just above a whisper. He takes a long moment to reply. At length, he signs,

« People are not kind to people they think are different. » A soft, sad breath. Even with the mask, you can see his frown. Still, his signs are firm and calm.

« Long time ago. I’m okay now. » 

He lowers his hands to your thighs, gently running his fingers over the scars, up over your hips, ghosting over your torso until his hands meet your jaw, gently cupping your face and lifting it to his. His voice is a raspy rumble, thick with disuse and his slow, drawling accent.

“We’re both still here. I’m glad I met you.”

His lips are soft as he slips his mask up, kissing you with a tenderness that almost makes you weep. He’s right. It’s okay now.

You well know that Bo has his scars. Some invisible, some on clear display--Thick, angry red, and roping around his wrists and ankles where the restraints of his high chair, and later duct tape, cut into his skin and marked him; A testament to all the adults in his life that ever failed him.

He’s never seen yours. Not really, not up close. Despite the nature of your relationship--Intense and sexually charged as it’s been--He’s never seemed to notice. Perhaps it’s the fact that you tend to wear long sleeves out of habit. Nothing that could expose your upper arms, or the few thicker slashes that had become keloid scars over the years. There’s comfort in hiding, you find, even if the shame is mostly gone by now. 

Try as you might, though, there’s no controlling the weather. Louisiana summers were hot and humid, and this particular day had the sun beating down on the cracking concrete and broken asphalt of Ambrose. Even laying still inside the house with the fans on isn’t enough to stave off the sticky heat, making your shorts and tank-top cling uncomfortably to your form.

There’s exactly one place in Ambrose that had proper air conditioning, and hesitant as you are to disturb Bo at work, staying in the house all day just isn’t an option anymore.

You pack up a quick lunch for yourself and Bo--Sandwiches, some fruit that hasn’t gone off yet, and two cans of Sprite, fresh out of the fridge. The cold of the cans helps fight off the heat as you make your way down; It feels like a hundred years before you finally circle around the back of the station and through the front door.

You’re met with a blessed blast of cool air, and the distant sound of Bo’s music echoing from the garage proper. You sigh with relief, setting lunch on the front desk and straightening your shorts and tank top out before you turn to tell him you’re here--Only to collide face-first with a Dickie’s clad chest. You stumble back, dazed for a moment, but smile once you hear Bo laughing. He reaches out to steady you with a strong hand, still a bit greasy from work.

“Hey there, sugar. Miss me this much?” His lip curls back, his fox-like smile revealing his straight, white teeth, and crinkling the corners of his eyes. You give him a shove, chuckling.

“It was fucking hot, okay? I felt like I was turning into a puddle.” Bo shrugs, stepping back and pulling an oil-stained hank from his back pocket and wiping off his hands. He leans back on his heels, tilting his chin at you. 

“Bringin’ me lunch. You really do love me,” He pauses, brows furrowing as he peers at where he steadied you with his still-dirty hand. “Wait a sec, got you all dirty--” In that moment, you’re suddenly and acutely aware of just what you’re wearing. Before you’re even done processing the thought, Bo is gripping you firmly by the shoulder, turning you and staring intensely. His fingers dig into your shoulder, and he looks up at you, anger in his eyes.

“Who did this to you?”

“Bo, it’s not--”

“Where are they? I swear to god I’ll fuckin’ kill them. I’ll make ‘em regret it.”

“Listen--” A frustrated laugh from Bo, who’s taking his hat off and shaking his head.

“They ain’t gonna get away with this, darlin’, you gotta tell me.”

“I did it, okay?”

There’s a beat of silence, and then revelation seems to dawn on Bo. His grip on your shoulder slackens, and he stares for a long moment before he can finally speak again, voice uncharacteristically quiet, almost small.

“Why?”

“I...Look, I had a really hard time when I was younger. It was this, or...well. I don’t know. I’m just...glad I got the help I needed. Eventually.” You can’t meet his eyes, unsure of what his reaction will be. 

You certainly don’t expect to feel his strong, warm arms circle your shoulders and pull you close, tucking your head under his chin. You exhale a breath you didn’t know you were holding as he presses a kiss into the top of your head, bracing you close for a long moment. Though the words are left unsaid, you know what he’s trying to convey--He loves you. He’s sorry.

The tender moment is only broken with a loud growl from your belly, and Bo breaks the tension in the room with a laugh.

“How ‘bout that lunch?”
