She can't actually see the bullet.
Yes, she can guess (feel) as to where it is and hope that it has nothing to do with Elias's little nickname for her, but she can't actually see the bullet and that doesn't quite make sense for the scalpel holder. So she passes the scalpel to her right to Jon who just stares at it as if he's not looking at a scalpel. He glances to Melanie's prone form, then back at the knife. And Basira sees him attempt to grab it before stopping and going pale.
Hello, I am here to ask about Slaughter Jon. I love him, bloodthirsty bastard as he is.
How did he get into the Slaughter? How did he develop? What Music does he use?

Thank you for asking me these amazing questions. I’m afraid I might not be able to go in as detail as you’d hope. This is one of those things that takes its own life after you breathe them into creation and you lose track of all the possibilities.When I thought of my AU, I really was thinking of outside povs and an alternate to Melanie’s and his relationship and so I wasn’t thinking much for logistics.
He stumbled into the Slaughter similarly to Melanie. He was (unknowingly) investigating Slaughter manifestations or avatars, sometime before his time at the Institute. (which would happen as it does with the canon). In this AU, I’d say its appropriate to assume that he is a bit more “aggressive” in his pursuit of the supernatural after his experience with Mr. Spider. He’s more apt to investigate rather than research. In this he got up and personal with an aspect of the Slaughter and got a bit hooked. He doesn’t have the neat “go back to normal” switch that Melanie has bc his mark and his beginning is psychological.
As for how he Became, I am stuck between few concepts of how he came to realize he’s avatar:
1) He kept looking into his marking experience, kept getting marked from other aspects, ended up joining the aspects rather than being affected, learns things and decides to try his hardest not to become part of it, before he even gets to the Institute.
2) He doesn’t know. Not until Sasha explains the entities, he does two and two and confesses everything (including some illegal activity) in a Statement. relieved that he can figure whats happening to him
3) He’s at the same level that Melanie was before the bullet gets removed until the Prentis incident when he allows himself to go off. He spends season 2 in parallel to Sasha scared, reserved, looking for answers only he’s also secretly feeding and learning.
He isn’t so far gone that he can’t overcome it or wean himself, but he is very far gone. During “Whatever The Distaste,” Jon has been going cold turkey after a strong relapse, but Basira doesn’t buy it.
In all versions, I believe in his self discipline. I think that he tries his best to manage himself and his bloodlust and keeping track of Melanie who although knows in this AU (thanks to Jon sniffing her out), isn’t the best at riding the waves. Due to temperament/experience/ability, he’s her “sponsor”. Not enough to be an Anchor, but enough that they can keep each other responsible. He tries his damnest to keep Melanie human, by volunteering himself to her aggression. The reason he doesn’t try to get the bullet out of Melanie is because he doesn’t know its removable or fixable.
I like the concept of Jon using music. It makes sense and is a good idea. But because its not mandatory to the Entity, I did not think of it. If you have an idea, though, I’d love to hear it, please.
Hello laddie I was just thinking about how a slaughter!jon and daisy friendship would be uhhhh Kinda Cool and would also bring a new meaning to “listen to the quiet”. (Considering the fact that the slaughter has an association with music)
ok i love any and all forms of jon and daisy friendship so jot that down
now i happen to have TWO (count ‘em) TWO slaughter jon aus so their friendship would be pretty different in both
in my initial au (featuring Archivist!Gerry):
-they meet accidentally?? jon probably gets arrested for being a Dumbass
-Jon definitely tracks down things causing Issues and Stops Them, which daisy can get on board with
-Jon is also deeply embroiled in avatar politics so he ends up becoming her informant? kind of? he teaches her about shit
-he helps prevent her from sinking too far into being an avatar of the hunt
feral little man au, however:
-there is no listening to the quiet. Jon is leaning way far into this avatar thing
-swings violently back and forth on whether he wants to prevent others from devolving or if he wants to speed things along
-daisy is trying her best to convince this man to chill, christ jon
-good ending: she helps him not be a shit all the time
