Okay so I might just be stupid and know nothing about capitalism, but why is it that people who own companies and do nothing make several million times the amount that people who own nothing and do everything make?

A proposal: nobody in any part of a company should make more than 10x the amount of their lowest paid employee.

You want to pay a waitress $2 an hour? Cool. You're surviving on $20 an hour, and you will see it's still not enough to live. Versus if you pay somebody $25 an hour, you can live comfortably off of $250. Quite literally, your investment grows exponentially. There are only upsides to paying people a living wage, in this scenario.

CEOs are a lot less likely to get shot, in this case.
