Whilst I do love the content DC comics produces, I also believe that going 1202 days without a single black led ongoing in the main continuity is disgraceful and WILL be partaking in the boycott HOWEVER, during this boycott, do not forget to continue supporting both artists and your local comic book store!! Check out artists' other non DC projects, and whilst you're at it, maybe pick up some indie works from your local comic book store. Remember, your favourite heroes wouldn't stand for the erasure of black stories, so you shouldn't either as we stand here for truth justice and a better tomorrow.

In honour of akira 35th anniversary over in the UK, I wanna talk about how tragic of a character tetsuo is overall. Throughout the entire film, it is SO clear how badly he wants to be like Kaneda and how he develops an animosity and distain towards Akira. Despite all that, tetsuo is never really given the opportunity to have agency over his own life forever being told what to do, inevitably being forced to fight the man he wants to be whilst being forced to become a man he hates. This lack of autonomy and agency is further proven by the poster of the movie itself both Akira and Kaneda taking centre stage whilst tetsuo is forced to sit backseat to other people's lives

I have SO much to say about Shin Godzilla, but omg, is this scene SO gorgeous to me, and after some thought, I feel like how you interpret Godzilla is a character really changes your interpretation of the shot. If you view godzilla as having a moral compass and being evil and destructive, then it reads as how man is truly the biggest monster and threat to life. HOWEVER if like me you see Godzilla is a stand-in for natural disaster, it reads as man overcoming destruction and casualty and looking forward to the future, and I think that's just amazing
