alright, here's my sleep token sona/self-insert fellow Cu, the intern outfit designer/concept artist for the white-red masks era.

its thing is that it started out as a. graphic design student by day, gas station cashier by night, and has noticed ii's recurring appearances & chatted with him about his whole deal, and then decided to join both for design practice and in hopes of receiving some sort of metamorphosis from Sleep (both for transgender reasons and to become bug). it didn't contribute much materially (only ideas, really) and left eventually because it realized that the band can't really execute most of its vision anyway, but it had a fun time sticking around regardless. still talk to Vess and ii afterwards, but rarely. its name is Cu because 1) self insert 2) i don't think backstage members would necessarily need numerals and 3) Vessel "chemistry nerd" Sleeptoken would allow that i think. the moth is a personal addition to the mask; it's like a felt and wire contraption that's been partially sewn, partially glued on. Cu is really just me but cooler and on T and a graphic design student in the UK

the sigil/logo is. somehow on the mask. the mask is supposed to resemble the whalefall from missing limbs if that wasn't apparent too

also the staff Does move like a basket star out of water when being used methinks.

i lowkey dont have lore for them cuz theyre. basically Me. um just assume they fell into an aquarium tank or some shit idk

i suppose following the typical lore. sleep visited in a dream and promised Cool Shit and a free isopod and that offer was TAKEN

something clicked for me last night and new pinterest album has been created. messy drafts that make little sense, need to sort out. posting here because why not, we're taking notes live lmao.

Lilac/amethyst/lavender colour with black ; nebulas and thunderstorms ; smeells sweet like lavender and honey? ; xxvii maybe ; luna moth wings shape but with butterfly coloration in purple/lilac - maybe as a cloak maybe fr ; dawn blue light hour / dusk ; fields of elation song ; gloves to protect skin??? ; horns ?? fangs ?? ; third eye or maybe 4 ; violin/cello ; sweet ; mask wings shape ; black lace and dresses ; purple eyes ; old vessel that gave up soul megara style poor baby she's ancient and sad ; sings but softly ; black sand beaches and pink/purple skies ; butterflies

what's her name? who knows, certainly not me - something cool, space inspired perhaps. or i can just be my usual unoriginal self and name yet another oc after a greek myth figure lmao. you'd be surprised how many of those i have lol

Song/VIII lore!

Physical description? [Haven't drawn him in a hot minute]

- Song is 32!

- He's 5'8. Shortass.

- Dark brown hair, he's rocking the curly mullet every hillbilly has now.

- Tired, brown eyes,

- Snake bite piercings

- Burn scarred skin from the watchtower.

- Various tattoos, some relating to Sleep.

- Elk horns. Yeah. He just gets progressively more cryptic as his time in Eden goes on.

Backstory?

He grew up absolutely in love with nature, hunting, and pretty much every country boy hobby out there. He has a sibling we know as Veris [Who belongs to @that-unfortunate-crow 👍]

Song was a camp counselor in his teenage years, went on to be a park ranger.

When he first started his job, allegedly, a couple of teens thought it would be a grand prank to set fire to the watchtower. The blaze caught Song right in the middle. I like to imagine this was how Sleep found him / How he found Sleep?

During that fire he technically died, but Sleep kept him from fully going into the afterlife.

From there he got caught up in the cult we all know and love, and went missing. [To this day he is still considered a cold case by the Missing 411 foundation.]

Before being taken by Sleep, Song struggled with religion, knowing there was at least a semblance of a god out there.

The source of his name was Vessel. When Song finally woke up and learned where he was, he forgot his name [Luke Hernandez] The first time the two sat down to actually get to know each other, Song was playing the guitar, and Vessel gave VIII his new name.

Extra!

He has an American Saddlebred horse named Benny, and a German Sheperd/Boxer mix named Loki. [In honor of our dog, Loki, who recently passed]

Song is absolutely terrified of Ghosts and Demons. He doesn't rock with them devils and spirits.

When he's not dressed like the most basic Texan cowboy out there, he's rocking his navy blue tactical uniform or Park Ranger uniform.

Me and Crow were talkin and came up with the idea that conspiracy/true crime youtubers have done videos on his disappearance, and he doesn't know about them. Veris does, Song doesn't.
