Ngl, more than half the time, my tags are for my own cataloguing purposes!! 😂😂

you are so fierce and quick in your defense of adoptive sibling relationships. and you’re vehement in demanding people appreciate and acknowledge the value of found-family connections. it’s a pattern I see in you. you’re a good egg.

aw, thanks. found family is actually a staple of queer narratives** and it would be really gr8 if fandom could go back to embracing that instead of reaching for every pair of women who've ever made eye contact just for the sake of having something to ship. or like. just admit you get off thinking about attractive people naked together and stop pretending you have noble and romantic reasons for your nonsense.

**this has been a theme in queer creative works going back to at least the 1890s iirc, but has grown much less prevalent in digital fan spaces as same-gender marriage has become normalized worldwide over the past 10-15 years and fan fixations have shifted specifically to the romantic aspects of queer identity rather than the identity-sharing & community parts

Up front, I want to say I also wish the show would address Kara’s disappearances where Lena is concerned. Also I’m personally someone who shows up early out of anxiety. With that said, in my experience, timeliness is more about personality than it is about consideration. I disagree with people who think it’s a personality flaw. 3/4 of my family members show up late to everything.

I never considered her punctuality a flaw or a personal failure on her part. It was just a trait that directly conflicted with my own. And it wasn’t the only thing that led to us losing touch– there were other conflicts as well that weren’t relevant to the Kara & Lena convo, lol. 

But ultimately, in order for it to work, it would have needed to be her changing or me accepting a dynamic that made me feel awful. 

So if I’m identifying with Lena on this one, that’s not a great thought for Lena & Kara’s friendship either.

one thing I appreciated more on second viewing was how the episode provided a sort of juxtaposition of J’onn’s story with James’. J’onn has been struggling to find inner piece. This episode we got to see him sorting himself out and having his moment of catharsis and acceptance. and at the same time James is descending into emotional decline, collapsing under his trauma. I like that the writers chose to join those 2 story points in one episode.

Awesome observation! And as we’ve said before, it’s wonderful to see J'onn and James have these emotion-driven storylines as black men, in particular, and we’d love to see them directly interact more in coming seasons.

derry girls and halt and catch fire. i have yet to finish hacf and it’s not new at all, in fact the show’s over, but i finally started it this year and god it’s so good. and derry girls...like need i say more.
