Play with space, structure, function, materials, design styles, social values, and sustainability in a fun, hands on way, while ideating, imagining, and pushing yourself to design creative architectural solutions to a topic relevant to the group. The workshop aims to look at the potential of everyday objects such as Lego, cardboard, paper, plastic, fabric, clay, etc. to create new experiences of form and space, while also giving an insight into what it means to be an architect. The workshop would culminate with the combined efforts of all the participants as a group in realizing a project relevant to children and the city of Bangalore with a panel of eminent architects and the public as the audience. The workshop is limited only by the imagination of the creative mind.
About Smaran:
Smaran received his Masters degree from Austen E. Knowlton School of Architecture, Ohio State University (M. Arch 2004 – 2006). Smaran Mallesh, co – founded Cadence Architects and is also involved in teaching design at architecture schools in Bangalore such as RV College, BMS college, Jain College. He has won many prestigious national level awards for various projects such as JK Cements Young Architect of the year and has also been published in the internationally acclaimed design magazine- Wallpaper
