I’m so freaking proud of this little 6 y.o Appaloosa right now... he’s had such a solid start to life and showing and jumping that it’s been very easy for me to take him as far as he’s come so far in the past 2 months, but it still amazes me how far we’ve come. Guinness stepped up yet again and even surpassed my expectations for the show yesterday. This was his second time jumping courses at a show and his first jumping “real” courses with proper oxers, which he only started jumping a month ago. In the 6 weeks since the Florida ApHC show we’ve jumped maybe 4 times, and had quite a bit of time off in the last couple of weeks due to weather. But he walked into a crazy schooling on Friday straight off the trailer, didn’t bat an eyelid at anything, and jumped around like a seasoned pro. Yesterday, not only did we come 3rd in a 12 person hack with like no warmup (bad Catherine for not double checking start times) we were 1st and 3rd over fences of 15 horses, without a warmup round... to end up Champion of the 2’ Baby Greens. Even more exciting, we got flying changes (which I literally first introduced the basic concept of a week ago) both directions and he landed 90% of his leads!!!!!! The goal for this show was to just get out and in the show ring to get some more experience over fences and I could not have asked for more from this kid. Thank you @rkline for trusting me with your baby this year, I’m so incredibly excited for the rest of the journey this horse will take this year and for years to come. And I’m so glad that our most local show is @hj_fox, which has the most offerings for young horses in a proper but pretty quiet show environment. #guinness #guineapig #dreamofbeinclassy #aphchuntseathorse #greenhunter #youngageoldsoul #jumpallthethings @smartpak #smartpakstyle #smartpakpipers #smartpakharwichbridle #cwdsellier #lovemycwd #rubbersnaffleride #webitDOWNatshows (at Georgia International Horse Park)
