ooh alright thanks! these will probably be mostly bibo era because i haven't been able to consume so much from the earlier games :') might be a little graphic i don't know??? canon-typical

there's something off about V that makes people more familiar with Big Boss do a double take. he slouches more but stands just a little taller than bibo, his resting face is gentler, he no longer smells of cigars, etc etc. people chalk it up to the coma.

i wonder how much remained in his muscle memory... he played the electric guitar when he was younger and could probably still riff if he picks it up again

V and Big Boss "traded scars" when they had a chance to meet again (because I always loved the idea of Big Boss having to adopt some parts of V in turn)

Bibo loves to play spot the difference while staring at V

At one point, V's silhouette with the ponytail has reminded Bibo of The Boss

like Bibo, there are always lots of random things stuck in V's hair

Medic had the chance to play Galvez / Zadornov's theremin and he took to it very easily

Medic was usually quiet but and Morpho bonded instantly and the moment Big Boss gets off the chopper for a mission they start yapping about anything

V has called Pequod "Morpho" by accident more than thrice so he just shuts up now in the chopper to avoid it

V and Quiet hum together and have done some sick harmonies over the radio / in the chopper

i have seen V be associated with black mambas when talking about the Snakes as literal snakes and I love that!!! i also personally like the idea of him being a false cobra

Diamond Dogs has karaoke nights because it sounds so fun lighting up Mother Base and hearing the soldiers sing their hearts out, now that they feel their location's more secure they feel safe making a ruckus

Kaz misses playing the guitar, he was in the middle of composing another song when it all went to hell. during 9 year gap he used to play and sing loudly to annoy Ocelot. during TPP he still picks it up occasionally and performs the fingerings on the fretboard, trying to regain the calluses he lost. to his surprise V offered to play it with him, and they can slowly work their way through some songs with Kaz doing the chord shapes and V plucking.

PW Bibo and Kaz both enjoy sashimi

PW Kaz slips into Japanese to berate Bibo to his face and also talk to himself

Kaz's other senses are very sharp, especially his sense of smell

9 year gap Kaz taught Ocelot some Japanese words but with the wrong meanings. Ocelot has done the same with Russian.

when Mantis was still struggling with his powers, if he spoke, he would've adopted the language, accent and speech mannerisms of whoever he was "bonded" with. kuwabara kuwabara. he picked up Eli's accent and Eli thought he was mocking him at first

What do you think V would do if he was given a cat instead of a dog

late but hmm realistically i think he would leave them on mother base or the animal conservation platform if they were your average cat, and they would spend their days following everyone around and getting all the attention and basking in the sun with quiet. but if we go by d-dog logic they would actually be a wildcat and have a little eyepatch and red scarf because ocelot would raise them to be an honorary ocelot unit member and there would be no diamond dogs reference scene but a thing about nuke from the old base and kaz would give some speech about the similarity and remark about the future of the organization. d-cat, for lack of a better name, would sneak onto the chopper and sleep a lot and they might function more as a distraction to enemies. when v meows to call them (making ocelot proud), they act as a distraction, and when v goes 'pspsps' they start mauling people or something. they would be a little hardheaded at first and mainly do their own thing but as the bond level goes up they stick to him more closely and automatically draw attention away when people are about to spot v. if they get bored / aren't utilised enough they might start going after random animals and people unfortunately. v would really love them though and he'd always have treats for them and stop to pet them and give them all the scritches and talk to them in a baby voice

anyways thanks for the ask!! i love bbkaz to bits it's what really pulled me into mgs even if it wasn't the intro to this current fixation, may be a little obsessed with them,,, they can just check all the right boxes for me depending on what era. again i'm not good with words but

i love??? how they met?????? how kaz was willing to blow them both to hell to take down the man who defeated him, how he offered bibo a chance at honour while hiding dishonour behind his back. then the judas / jesus... how kaz learned "enemies are always relative" too, how he trusted big boss more than anyone, and that kind of hilarious but sweet tidbit about kaz being unable to choose between big boss and chasing after women, wanting to keep both of them, which kind of represents what he did with cipher (or not i might just be going mad), chasing after the growth of MSF while working with bibo's enemies and telling himself he's doing it all for their dream

i also think kaz would have his suspicions that venom was not in fact bibo because he was right there when bibo went into a coma, but he would've forced himself to believe it after being tormented and out of bibo's light for so long, so he was willing to mistake the sunlight reflecting off the moon for the real thing if only to see it again. i think it's so interesting how he kind of parallels ocelot in his devotion to big boss (enemy = secretly ally, ally = secretly working with enemy, one dedicating his life to aiding big boss while the other pledges to destroy him). i think in the end kaz just went right back to their start, the promise to bring them both down fulfilled at last.

as for headcanons hmm i don't remember if i have any let me think

- i like to imagine they want to be close when they're alone and especially when working late, cramming themselves into the same chair, sitting on the table in front of the other whenever that doesn't work out well, kaz has used bibo's back to act as a table when he needs to quickly write something

- kaz acts like a victorian woman showing an ankle when bibo pulls off his glasses. he kisses the eyepatch. kaz is the one picking everything out of bibo's hair.

- kaz cooks meals from Japan for bibo a lot (bibo still reacts like he does in snake eater. "i want some more!" "eeueueoeuegh... what is this?").

- phantom pain kaz glares at v when he feels angry at bibo then feels bad about it

there's probably more i picked subconsciously from reading fics and even more thoughts but i can't think of any more... okay ramble over bye sorry thanks again for the ask :D !!!
