We use to LOVE these things as kids. Our recent party from a Exandrian\Golden Keys Homebrew were in Hupperdook and came upon a shop that sold these, so our DM made 'em up on the spot and now we have a new common magic item!

Snappy Snaps

Consumable, common

“Small wads of paper filled with a tiny bit of black powder. They have a small ‘tail’ that you can use to throw it against the ground and cause a popping noise.”

This box of firecrackers has 20 snappers in it, and were created for children to entertain themselves, but they can be used in some cases to momentarily distract others.

You can use a bonus action to throw one of these snappers at the ground within 10 feet of you. Any creature within 10 feet of where the snapper hits must succeed on a DC 10 Intelligence saving throw or have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Insight) checks for the next round. If any creature can see you when you use this item, they are unaffected.
