Work up to a max weight for complex (TnG):
1 x Power snatch
1 x Hang squat snatch
Completed: 50kg
I did not feel like snatching today, and the frustration of it all made me incredibly shitty.
Didn’t warm up properly, shoulders were complaining, getting into an overhead squat was difficult, was outside on uneven ground, had to be aware of Connor around me and Sam was killing it with his snatches which annoyed me even more. I had so many excuses and was feeling sorry for myself. 50kg is usually a warm up weight which I can usually hit, and today it felt like 100kg - lifting from the ground felt heavy, let alone getting under it overhead.
But I did it. And had to remind myself that these kind of feelings will be happening more often - especially when training at home when the environment won’t always be perfect and when you can only do the best you can in the time you can fit it in. Thank goodness for the training discipline I instilled in the years leading up to today where I trained when I didn’t want to, or was feeling sore, or sick, or upset or angry, even when pregnant! You just get on with it ‘cos that just what you know.
WOD - EMOM for 4 Rounds:
Min 1 - 50 Double unders
Min 2 - 12 KB swings (24kg)
Min 3 - 5 Squat snatch (40kg)
Min 4 - Rest
Was so happy to complete this one as prescribed. The DU’s were fine, always managed to finish within 40 secs even during one of the rounds where I tripped over the rope multiple times lol.
KB swings felt heavy, I think I did 2 rounds unbroken - the other 2, my forearms felt pretty tight.
The squat snatches felt better as the rounds went on. I missed the first snatch in 2 rounds, but managed to still get the 5 reps in before time was up.
Partner WOD (share the reps)
For Time
200 bike cals
Completed: 14.24 mins
Really hard - we broke up the cals in lots of 15. My goal was just to keep the watts consistently above 330 and managed to for the most part.
