You bet - Isayama said so. That’s a reference to her comment from chapter 22. But let me correct one thing… Let’s take a look at the translation from the old scanlations and Crunchyroll’s/Kodansha USA’s translation:

I believe the official translation has let us down in this case, because “taking Levi down a peg” completely lost the meaning of 然るべき報い/repayment in full/due punishment from both the raw and Isayama’s intervew.

So if Mikasa really meant “repayment in full” for the beating the Captain gave Eren during the trial, she might’ve been talking about much more than a single punch to the face… ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
