vagueposting about thing 1 and thing 2 again
me realizing i’ve basically split what could’ve been a prologue into like ten chapters for my hotd au
A traitor.
WHO. YOU. LOVE.
Me rewatching any episode of Agents of SHIELD:a
// I’m really trying hard with this fic but the Big Scene is so big and important in my head and I just can’t seem to get it right and I’m so frustrated
So it wasn’t until this week that I saw another episode title after The Weather Manufacturer, so IDK how many episodes are left in this season but I’m hoping it’s more than one because I feel like so far there’s a lot to be desired and there’s no way they can fit all the remaining dangling plot-threads into one episode.
We got the Triad moving to New York in the last scene of the last episode that was originally meant to conclude the previous season, but we haven’t seen or heard from them for the rest of the season proper, so what was even the point?
Same with having Action Man in a coma instead of dead or recovered. The only reference to it afterward was his lack of presence in Rose’s home when she beat up St. Cloud.
We also had The Monarch and Gary getting both of Rusty’s “game-changing” teleporters, which you’d think they or the Guild would try to make use of later, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Last week’s episode ended on a cliffhanger with Dr. Mrs. contemplating giving up arching to be a council member, which you’d think would mean a status-quo change. Like Dr. Mrs. quitting the council to stay partnered with her husband, or quitting the Guild altogether to operate with him by their own rules. Or, if she was going to stay on the council, then there should’ve been a scene of her throwing away her old costume or something. But instead, the next episode just doesn’t address it.
The thing with McManus and 464 was kind of confusing. Last time Dr. Mrs. saw her, she was ready to throw down, and McManus was ready to take 464 back. Now 464′s again doing something crazy to get her attention and Dr. Mrs. is showing her sympathy. IDK, maybe it was all a setup? Maybe the council didn’t want 464 pulling anymore stupid shit so they thought they’d kill two birds with one stone by reprogramming 464 and then luring in McManus so they could kill her? But I feel like that would cause more problems with OSI than it would solve.
One thing I am excited about though was the element of time travel thrown in at the last minute. The fact that Rusty calls The Monarch “Malcom” and the fact that it was Rusty and Billy together rather than Rusty alone suggests that this isn’t like Successful Rusty from an alternate universe or a shaggy-dog story like Escape from the House of Mummies Part II. At some point, the Rusty and Billy we know will need to time travel and it will likely be during or prior to this adventure that Rusty learns of his relation to The Monarch.
Today was a day.
Til Death Do Us Part ~ immortally-wounded
Q paced, irritated with himself. For the past few months he'd been trying to find a way to get close to Luc Altair.
The man had been loosely connected to several missing persons cases in Andover, where Q had grown up. He'd read all the police reports and there was no evidence solid enough for an arrest. The case files from Andover referenced a case in Eastleigh where Altair was a person of interest. On a hunch he'd run a cross-reference search of Altair's known locations with unsolved missing persons cases. Over the past four years there had been roughly 150 cases where Altair was in the same city at the same time.
Now Altair was going to be in Beaconshire, attending some classy party. Q had happened to "acquire" an invitation. He should have just forged one. The invitation he'd stolen was for one Rupert Crawford and husband. He'd debated sending the case to MI6 and letting them take care of it, but he wasn't sure they'd take it. And whether they took it or not they'd forbid him from investigating further in the field. He sighed.
"Harkness, I need you to put on a suit and be my husband for the weekend."
