just finished re9 so ive become even more insufferable than before
spoilers under the cut!
so like, releasing elpis is the canon ending, right? omg. also, I love grace more than anything and I hope we get another game with her. I have to say I was not that scared but I had a BLAST, the monsters in this game are freaky as fuck. also, I mean based on the cutscenes you get if you release elpis i have a lot of theories:
there will probably be an re10 with Chris since everyone is speculating what Chris was doing
Leon is married but not to Ada or Claire
idk that's basically it
I want another game with Chris if you can't tell thanks capcom for making Leon married or making it seem that way now I need a wife reveal
honestly people were complaining about the chosen one thing but it honestly feels so confusing and vague to me since, canonically spencer gives Alyssa grace, and the recordings are after the events on the orphanage in 1990. So they'd just been trying to make someone with perfect blood then? idk maybe I don't get the lore.
but I did really like this game. I like grace, she's really likeable and an overall caring person. I wouldn't say she's a strong female character. In fact I would say that shes very physically weak and not that she's emotionally weak but that she feels emotions unabashedly in a world in which life is somewhat less valued. compared to leon, her walls are down. but like, shes strong in that way. Shes strong because despite it all, she rises above. She's not a supersoldier or a mold construct, she's real flesh and bone and scared to death and that's the way that horror games should be. So grace isn't a strong female character but she is a strong character and her strength is more valuable than anything physical. The emotions that the protagonists of these series is so much. Yeah they could be jacked as fuck and punch boulders but Chris redfields strengths come from his guilt and how he fights for what's right. jill may be mutated but i love jil because she wants to fix things after 5. she wants to do good, despite all the damage. and Ethan isn't beloved because he has regenerative superpowers, but because he steps up for his family. You can't measure strength by how hard you punch is it worth the 70$ price tag? like, yeah, kinda... I mean obviously that's not exactly convenient for me but we probably won't get another addition to the title until at least 2030.
anyways there were definitely sections in this game that were scary and action sections. Not gonna lie the orphanage shit was actually pretty creepy and like seeing that build up was one of the most wonderful things ever. like the two different endings. I guess the prediction that Leon would die was half right.
