Well, I'm still not sure WHAT exactly this account will lead into- maybe it'll evolve to be a sort of ooc "roleplay" account, or maybe I'll just fully decide it's an alt dedicated to mr spaghetti over here and be. Well. Me. Idk. If you for some reason hate this guy but like my art. Uh. Idk. I like this guy a lot so maybe don't follow my main.
Anwyays, hi. Hello. I'm a little confused about how to use this account (interactions scare me...) but I'll do my best to get involved with the community :) If. That's even okay. Idk.
Fanfiction, Exploration of Dark Themes, and Puritanical Judgment
I think this is an important topic that needs to be talked about.
This is going to be a longer rant about the puritanical judgement, morality policing, and the complete lack of fandom decorum in the Outer Banks community.
Over the past few months, I’ve seen a lot of judgment, shame, and policing of fanfiction within the Outer Banks community on Twitter specifically. So much negativity, careless “critiques” framed as opinions, and a total lack of fandom decorum.
Let me be completely honest and unfiltered here. People are allowed to dislike or disagree with a fanfiction. That’s fine. What is not okay is sending death threats, spreading hate, or shaming writers (and readers) into thinking that something they enjoyed is immoral or bad.
Let me say that again.
People are sending death threats. Over fictional characters.
That goes far beyond being uncomfortable with a story.
Reading or writing fanfiction that includes dark themes does not define a person. Some corners of Twitter have completely lost the ability to separate fiction from reality.
If you don’t like something, don’t read it. It’s that simple. I’ve seen multiple people get harassed silently or publicly because they dared to write something that made people uncomfortable. Every week on Twitter, the purity police show up saying, “That’s disgusting and wrong,” as if the act of writing something is the same as committing it.
It’s not.
Writers dissect the parts of humanity people pretend don’t exist. We explore obsession, violence, guilt, and desire. Not to glorify them, but to understand them. Which is only one of many explanations.
Writing about different kinks isn’t evil. Dark tropes aren’t endorsements.
You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to read it. But people do not get to police the boundaries of someone else’s art or freedom of expression just because it made them uncomfortable.
If you don’t want to see that kind of work, block and use the filter specifically designed for it. That’s what the filtering tool is for on AO3, and blocking too.
It’s exhausting watching morally righteous people inside and outside the Riara Twitter community judge, shame, and talk negatively about fanfiction writers. I’ve been in fandom spaces for a long time, and I’ve never seen this level of hostility toward creative exploration.
I also urge people to actually look into why AO3 was created. To protect transformative works, creative freedom, and the right to explore complex or taboo themes safely and transparently.
People don’t have to like every story. People don’t have to understand every kink. But no one deserves harassment for fiction. That’s not moral righteousness—that’s cruelty disguised as virtue. It doesn't make people a "better" person to shame others.
They first did a geno run, causing Chara to take control at the end of the game, and then the frisk did a pacifist run, freeing everyone. Of course, Chara is still in control!
In this au! They can look at files of people around the world, which means if they open up the files, around 8 million files might appear! Lol! Of course, files are deleted when a person dies, and there's a search bar just if theres a specific person they wanna know about!
And wow! They can no longer reset or save...of they die, they're cooked! And gone forever! There is a teen in this au, let's say....around 14?
They use a blue stop sign axe that Sans helped frisk make, surprisingly.
