"Sooner or later youre honna be mine" Is very toxic-y comic. Like, Frisk REALLY wants nothing to do with that Sans and (even though there's nothing wrong with kinky content and self indulgent stuff at all) the comic continuely tries to push you to root for him, even when you have Frisk clearly disliking every one of his approaches, she's very not into him and that's not enjoyable to watch for many people.

Personally, it's not fun to watch a guy continuely sexually assaulting a woman, even if that man is Sans the skeleton.

The thing about it is it could have potential

1920s American culture clashing against the hyper progressive society of monster kind could be interesting but the monsters are apparently just as misogynistic

And idc if its the 1920s not only did plenty of not sexist men exist back then (not EVERYONE thought women should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen), but Sans is like the least sexist man alive that bitch let's women peg him daily let's be so fr

But also why is Frisk white? Why is frisk a woman?

I know why, Fr/ans shippers love to say "you can interpret frisk however you want!" but always make them the most boring bland nice white girl with no spice and Sans is always this macho man that needs to protect his little kitten

It never surprises me when people say the only reason they ship Fr/ans or used to ship it is because they self project onto Frisk because making ocs, self insert, etc was considered "cRiNGe" no one actually ships these characters together because the ship by itself is entirely nonsensical even if you work around the fact one is canonically a minor

It a disservice to both characters lmao

Frisk especially pacifist Frisk can beat the shit outta Sans. They have proven to be very capable and strong regardless of what route they take. Regulating them to a helpless damsel is dumb. And it feels like the comic tries to compensate by making Frisk a sassy little thing ☝️ but that doesn't work when they have little agency in the story and their only importance to the story is because of the male character

Making Frisk white when they literally have yellow skin is baffling, even more so when the comic frequently reminds us of the harsh racial segregation at the time, Frisk being a person of color being discriminated alongside monsters could have been interesting but nooooo

Likewise Frisk just never having any racial bias and being so "its bad to be racist" feels forced as a result, Sans is a misogynist but Frisk can be white and not be affected by the constant racial propaganda at the time? It feels inconsistent

Plus Frisk being a woman at all.....yay enby erasure

"But it's the 1920s!!" So? Queer people have always existed. Frisk is already #woke by not having any racial bias, have them be AFAB but in the closet or struggling with their gender identity, a scene of them talking about how they dont feel like a man or a woman but dont have a term or a place to explore that EXCEPT with monsters would have gone hard but nooooo

Frisk has no spice or anything outside of being pursued by the boneman

And don't even get me started on Sans, he's Sans in name only. He has no charm, I remember him being funny, he's not manipulative or clever- he's a brute, he's a gross pervert and he's sexist

The only thing going for him is he's tall and hot, which is only because he's Sans supersized in a suit with an edgey color palette

That's not even mentioning the "romance" which btw there is none

Romance will always be subjective, especially dark romance but Frisk doesn't even find Sans attractive the bare minimum for almost any romance story, but also why is Sans even interested in Frisk? He just kinda is. I think the only things that are brought up are her beauty and the fact Frisk is not racist

Listen I like yanderes to an extent, but there's a reason that they have an appeal. First off they are genuinely in love with their obsession no matter how twisted, however that often involves the person of interest having a personality which mafiafell frisk barely has but also while part of the appeal is Sans pursuing Frisk aggressively.....

Him being physically abusive and using irl tactics actual abusers use naturally spoils a lot of the appeal, even most extreme yandere enjoyers rarely write the yandere being violent toward their "darling" though some exceptions

Combine that with the entitlement and gross creepy behavior its not yanderen its just incel behavior, hell, Sans even wears a fedora. But even if you wanna justify that with the whole "its a dark romance guys its part of the genre, its what people want, etc" this man is also fucking stupid

Ah yes, there's a woman Sans wants so badly he can hardly control himself. How we winning her over? Oh, let's bash her head in against the bathroom sink after cornering her in the woman's bathroom after she said she didn't find you attractive

10/10 logic right there, there is no way this would guarantee she'll never never give you a second glance no sirree

The main characters are unlikable for different reasons, the romance is nonexistent, it tries to be edgy with no serious depth, and the 1920s mafia setting is just background aesthetic with nothing interesting done with what could be interesting world building

The plot is all Sans harrasses Frisk for several chapters with no expansion on any other character, even Reapertale a fucking SORIEL au did more with its premise and even Lore Olympus that has similar problems at least has an actual romance

Ppl only like it for the hot bone men, you could have removed undertale/utmv from this entirely then it wouldn't have reached any of its current popularity
