Just when I thought I could have a laid back Saturday…
…and she springs a run to Costco trip on me.
I can feel my anxiety building already.

In other news: I made it 31 days without any alcohol. Hopefully, I can extend this into November.

Now is a great time to start considering, planning and prepping for Sober October (or Ocsober if you're fancy).
You have half a month to get yourself in a place where you're ready to try it. You can do it! Start now if you want. I believe in you.
I haven't had a drink for four weeks now and I don't feel better. People say it takes time to rewire your brain but I'm seriously lacking serotonin and everything feels off and just unimportant. I miss having a bath, listening to my favorite songs and just sink into daydreams where everything is ok and I'm happy.
Suptober Day 8: Sober (October)
Dean was just bending over the mini fridge set on getting himself beer, when Castiel’s voice made him jump. He turned around to see Cas’ holding the damn calendar Sam had printed out and pinned to the wall.
“Dean, you have already made it eight days without partaking of alcohol; that is more than a quarter of the allocated thirty one days of the sober October challenge.”
Dean sighed and stared at the beer in his hand. Reluctantly he put it back and shut the door. “Yeah, uh.” He rubbed the back of his neck “Thanks Cas.”
“You made the correct choice, Dean. Sam did a stocktake of all the alcohol in the bunker at the beginning of the month and I believe he and Kevin are betting on the outcome.”
Dean’s eyes cut back to the mini fridge. “Seriously?!”
Cas nodded once. “As am I. I wagered you would make the full thirty one days.”
The warm regard and confidence in Castiel’s blue eyes made Dean smile and straighten his spine. His cheeks felt suddenly hot. “Thanks for believing in me man.”
“I will always bet on you, Dean.”
I’ll just stick with water.
That sucked to say. I went out to dinner at the new trés chic restaurant in Mayberry tonight. They had all kinds of cool wines to try.
I had a wonderful dinner with my best friend though. We haven’t spent enough time together and it felt great to make each other laugh and complain about things.
I’ve decided to do Sober October, meaning starting today until Halloween I will not be drinking or doing ANY drugs, AND I will not be going out to eat or ordering take out. I am honestly really excited about this and to be completely honest if this goes well and I actually manage to do this I think that I might quit drinking and drugs entirely. I’m starting to realize that I honestly am incapable of drinking in moderation whatsoever and I have enough problems in my life without this becoming a problem too. So wish me luck! If you would like to help hold me accountable that is appreciated.
Edit: I might make an exception for dining out as that is a fun social thing but it cant be too often and def no take out, I can cook and I enjoy it so thats important to focus on
This just in... it’s officially been two weeks since I’ve had a drink. 😱
Remember a couple weeks ago, when I said I was struggling with my drinking and weight loss? Well, I decided to do Sober October, and now I’m two weeks drink-free!!
Will I keep drinking after October? I’m not sure. It’s nice to cut out the habit, though I have had days where the craving is bad. It’s especially bad at night, when I see other people sipping on drinks, but I’ve been substituting with tea and seltzer instead. If anything, I might make months-long breaks a regular thing so that I can still enjoy a drink when I want it, but my tolerance can stay low and my body can have enough time to heal.
Has it affected my weight loss? A bit, yeah. I’ve been eating “sweets” because my body is craving the sugar from the alcohol. However, it’s also making me face my diet and my overeating more honestly. I’ve got plenty of energy to do my workouts, too!
The BEST part?? My skin!! I just turned 30 over the summer, and I’ve been noticing little changes in my face. No alcohol means smaller pores, softer skin, less redness, and no eye bags! Gotta love it. ♥️
We’ll see what happens from here. For now, it’s one day at a time. ☺️
Haven’t been very sober this October.
