Charlie is expecting it when Ron comes pestering him for advice about how to deal with dragons. He and Harry might be fighting, but he’s still Ron’s best friend. No matter how upset Ron is, he won’t want Harry to go in blind. 

He’s careful only to give Ron information that’s available in the school library, just in case, because he wants to help his little brother out, but he doesn’t want to lose his job. 

What he’s not expecting is Fred and George at his door, pale and oddly serious. “We can’t let anything happen to Harry,” says Fred - or George - fuck, the one on the left. 

“Tell us everything,” demands the twin on right. 

Fred and George never ask him for anything. 

“Alright,” he sighs.

hey, do you have any suggestions for how to live with burnout? i’ve been having a burnout since late last year, and it’s kind of getting worse with all the additional stress in school— my year now is supposed to be very stressful. examples: my executive functioning has been getting a lot worse, i can’t pick up on a lot of social cues that i normally wouldn’t miss, i’m not socialising, and my sensory sensitivity has increased by a lot. i’ve been getting more easily tired too. thank you!

(TIME-SENSITIVE, URGENT) hey! just wanted to ask if there are any other alternatives to lip-biting other than chewellry and lip balm? because i can’t stand lip balm— and end up licking it off— and my parents don’t want to get me chewellry. and i kind of need my lips to be in good condition because i play the french horn, but they’ve currently been cracked and bleeding for two whole days. thank you!

One alternative I can think of is chewing gum, or possibly hard candies that you could suck on to keep your mouth occupied. Depending on the circumstance, you could also get some oral stimulation by eating food, particularly ones with lots of texture/flavor. Some vocal stims (like clicking your tongue) may also work for you, although once again, there will be circumstances in which that will not work. If you’re a light chewer (a lot of lip-biters are), you could also get a water bottle that has a squishy bite valve that can be chewed lightly without damage (I also found a questionable study that suggested that people drink more water from bottles with bite valves than bottles without, if that helps persuade your parents that you should have one). 

Since you’ve mentioned that your parents are not interested in buying you jewelry to chew on, I’m assuming that they would also not be interested in buying you other things made specifically to chew on, such as handheld chewables or chewable pencil toppers. However, on the off chance that they are an option for you, you could look into those as well.
