An Updated Comprehensive List of Women Who Are My Type (In No Particular Order) (Pt. 1)
As a warning in advance, this is a pretty long post (I will not apologize for being a simp).
Starting off strong, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams from Netflix's Wednesday.
Haunting (haunted?) eyes, impeccable facial structure, alluring voice, with braids (group a) as an added bonus. Writes novels with characters based off herself. Fascinating character and development. I love that she is extremely confident in her knowledge and abilities (even if she doesn't understand them). She's loyal to those she loves and is bad at showing it. She will take revenge for her loved ones and will not hesitate to do so. I just hope Netflix does her justice in the next season as well (aka MAKE WENCLAIR CANON! no criticisms will be taken at this time).
She's goth, she's murderous, she has mommy issues, AND she's a cellist? Sign me up.
Next, Sofia Anne Caruso as Lydia Deetz from The Original Broadway Cast of Beetlejuice.
Jawline that could cut cake with a bob to highlight it (group b), wits for days (literally beat a DEMON at his own game), likes photography and old music. Complicated character who made complicated decisions because she was in complicated circumstances. She struggled to connect with her father and his new girlfriend/fianceé/wife/whatever. She didn't want her mother to be forgotten. She wanted to help the Maitlands even though her motives weren't the best. (BTW I haven't seen the movies or show and I plan to keep it that way so don't even bother asking me about it. I know VERY little about other versions of Lydia.
Again, she's also goth, murderous, has mommy issues, plus she's sings really well. What's not to like?
Next, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy/Ghost Spider/Spider Woman from Sony's The Spider-Verse movies.
London gap? Check. Side shave? Check (group c). Watercolor eyes? Check. Piercings? Check. Personality, humanity, and relatability? Triple check. I know a lot of people bash on her for her decisions, but I think that her circumstances influenced a lot of her choices and reactions. I will NOT be taking any criticism about that. She gave Miles a chance to be friends (and more) even though she "didn't do friends anymore." She also sacrificed her own safety to go find him in the multiverse. Edit: She's also trans-coded (DO NOT FIGHT ME ON THIS YOU WILL LOSE) and I love that for her.
She's played by Hailee Steinfeld, has daddy issues, and is a drummer. Good combo.
Continuing on, Hailee Steinfeld as Vi from Fortiche's Arcane.
Scars and piercings. Tattoos. Side shave (group c). The softest eyes EVER. Likes to punch things. Vi dealt with so much suffering and trauma, and while I disagree with some of her decisions and actions (being an enforcer, leaving Powder alone, etc.), I strongly believe that her reasons for doing those things based on the circumstances she was in and the people she was around influenced this. (IF I SEE ANY CAITLYN OR JINX BASHING YOU WILL NOT LIKE MY RESPONSE)
She was goth for a bit (Pitfighter Vi we barely knew you), violent, has some pretty bad daddy issues, and is played by Hailee Steinfeld. My cup of tea right there.
Last (for now) but CERTAINLY not least is Eden Espinosa as Cassandra Gothel from Disney's Tangled: The Series.
Sassy, clever, strong. Knows what she wants and is not afraid to take it. Dommy mommy with a soft side. Bob that highlights her jaw (group b). Probably my first real fictional female crush. Do I want her or do I want to be her? Who knows. She's a complex character, and if you haven't already caught on, I like that. She was tired of being second place, tired of being overlooked, so she took what she thought she deserved (hot af). She did some bad things and hurt some people she loved. She went off to find her own destiny without the others.
She had an evil/goth phase, EXTREME mommy issues (they're extremely valid), violent, has a sword, and sings MAGNIFICENTLY. Highkey my type.
And that is the end of part one because if I keep going it's gonna be the longest ass post on this app.
*clears throat* your child cries every time they hear the end of 'Jump In The Line' from the 'Beetlejuice' musical, because they project onto Lydia and they crave a ''found-family' of their own, whether it's because they feel like their gender/sexuality disconnects them from their family, or maybe because of an absent (either physically or emotionally) parent.
