Scarlett Johansson, 'Lost in Translation' (2003)
Made with bright pink and orange trimming, this impossible-to-miss gown was seen in the 2009 film 𝑪𝒐𝒄𝒐 𝑩𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒍, worn by Marie Gillain as Adrienne Chanel. But that’s not where it originated! It danced across the screen in Sofia Coppola's 2006 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆 in a masquerade scene. The costume may have been made for the gown’s earliest known appearance in the 1975 BBC television series 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌, where it was worn by Angharad Rees as Demelza.
