@softestvirgil is the softest and sweetest puffball to ever exist. They’re so kind and chill and when they get excited about something or talk about the quips it’s the most precious thing cause they’re just so full of love and care. Amazing writer, amazing human, amazing friend. Deserves much love and care and support.
19. What’re you excited about for next year? - Virgil
:O!!!! hi ren!!!!!!
uuuhhhh.... i'm pretty excited about going to a cat café w my sister!! we were hoping to do it in january but we're not exactly sure if we'll be able to do it so we're just gonna wait and see when the possibility pops up to do it!
I don’t mean to be rude at all, I just want to say that Virgil wasn’t being disrespectful in that post about enbies. They were sharing information in a post, which, if read over again, they said nowhere that the terms must be used. They made a suggestion. Also, childish words are completely subjective, and if one person doesn’t like a word because of that it’s fine, but it’s a little unfair to call someone disrespectful because they don’t find it childish (1/3)
They were trying to spread information that may be helpful, and as an enby myself, I did find it helpful. I understand what you meant about context, and I agree that the terms don’t need to be exclusive to one group. And no one was being excluded in that interaction, I don’t see exactly where that idea came from (2/3)
Also, like I said, it’s perfectly fine if you find the word childish, but the way you stated it was very concrete, and if you aren’t non-binary I think it can be seen as disrespectful if you say those kinds of things so subjectively. There are some things that should be dealt with by the groups that they pertain to, and the words of someone outside of that group are sometimes not the best for the discussion. (3/3)

Belittling someones opinion is disrespectful. Saying “I don’t know where that came from” can be demeaning. I never said I wasn’t NB. And from what I recall because my memory fucking sucks, Virgil does not qualify as a person of colour. They also said “reminder” which is interpreted as a correction, not a suggestion.
I’m didn’t say its disrespectful because someone is comfortable with a term -- its disrespectful because they came off rude and did not need to be aggressive about the matter. And by “excluded”, I meant that they brushed that person who felt uncomfortable off, like if you find the word “enby” sounding childish, you should try come to terms with it because it’s what they may be referred as, which that person is allowed to separate themself from.
