softmonster replied to your post: whipped up another hammock for the rat...
i like how you’ll black out your eyes but not your most recognizable feature, the eyebrows from the stars
let be honest my eyebrows are their own censor bars.

this lighting makes you look so pale omg... que paso?!
LMAO it’s a combo of the front-facing camera on my phone and crappy lighting in the downstairs bathroom. don’t worry; I’m brown as ever! <3

i just went out to get long pants for this winter and i got home and found myself wishing i had more short pants. why do my ankles hate being clothed this badly? it is a mystery
5 things i associate with you: clouds, fashion, pastels, buttings, adult tricycles
I think what that post is trying to say is not that white women are always taken seriously in what makes them unsafe but that there's a long history of white women accusing black men of sexual violence, and that "sketchy" is often a racialized term that's usually code for "I don't want to go through a non-white neighborhood".
Good point, and that is definitely true. That's probably one of the only times that white women actually ARE taken seriously--when their feelings of being unsafe can be used to demonize a man of color. It's not about the actual safety of the woman in that case, it's about the racist targeting of the man. Any ACTUAL AND VALID safety concerns the woman has are not relevant or believed, but if it feeds into another kind of oppression, that's a different story.
Miami's softmonster has a new digital LP available for free download from the awesome Tom Anderson Productions. 'Books Given By Friends' is above.
