let’s do tuppie bc I mentioned him last time

even though tup is very critical of dogma (and all the other brothers that ask him for advice, because he’s definitely the known romantic of the GAR) he forgets all of his advice when it comes down to actually doing the deed on his own. he critiques himself to no end, and soon drives himself up a wall with the anxiety from it

it takes a minor breakdown to get back on track, and it actually serves to help him remember why he’s doing this. he’s proposing because he loves you, not to follow the perfect plan. once he’s reminded of that, he’s a man on a mission.

it’s the most determined he’s ever been, the kind where he’s marching over to you and ignoring anything and anyone that calls his name on the way. his other brothers are first stunned, but then whooping and cheering in his wake (but still, not like he hears them. he’s got tunnel vision)

when he asks the question, it almost fizzles out, and the nerves return, but not enough to derail him. he blacks out from the concentration but comes back to earth when you jump into his arms laughing and saying yes!

cody

cody is surprisingly cool when the realization comes. he’s always known that he wants to make a home with you at the end of the war, so after anaxes when he nearly dies, he sees no more reason to put off asking.

he thinks about it the whole time recovering, and it gives him something huge to look forward to—you’ve always been that to him, but this changes everything.

definitely the type to have had a ring for years

also has had a plan on how to propose for a while too, but he scraps it when he comes home and just has to do it then.

probably happens in the middle of a really mundane, domestic moment—sitting on the couch reading, or cooking a warm dinner for him for his first meal back. you never see it coming

proposes with an incredibly short and to-the-point speech, something short and sweet but at the same time so heartwarming, and definitely more open than hes ever been before. he cries in the middle of it, which is why he tried to keep it short— but it’s okay, because you cry too :’-)
