Ottavio keeps a journal of his adventures and jobs, mostly so he can keep track of his money/fences and other connections but also to practice his writing. he writes in it meticulously each night and after every job.

Vokriid has a journal, but only writes every few days in one huge burst, also mostly to keep track of her connections and locations she's been and ideas/research for magic and such. she has to write way too many academic papers to care to write down her memories for the sake of it. she writes almost exclusively in Altmeris (and in code, at that) at first and then Dovahzul as she learns the language. she is deeply paranoid and her journal is all but incomprehensible to anyone else.

Solalis writes really aggressive, vent-filled rants when stressed or letters to people who've wronged him and burns the letters for catharsis. lowkey irritates Vokriid bc parchment and ink are expensive but if he's paying for it she doesnt complain. he used to wrote music in his journals but no longer bothers.

Tavan records the location and observations of animals and occasionally plants that he sees. he's lowkey a bit of a biologist. he's okay at reading but his writing skills are actually somewhat limited. like Vokriid, he writes exclusively in his native language.

Miraak is determined to never write another word in his life ever again. Vokriid buys him a journal and he caves almost immediately. he usually writes down whatever interesting thoughts pop into his head and expands on them later. he tends to practice writing in whatever language he feels he needs the practice in, but his default is Dovahzul. he really enjoys writing philosophy and magical theory. his journal also doubles as a dream journal (altho he doesn't record his v frequent nightmares) bc dreaming is a novel thing for him again. he even writes bits of poetry/music (in the old bard tradition) on the occasion.

will I ever be able to write a fully sexy porn scene? the answer is unlikely.

I could write Vokriid and Miraak trying to have sex and deciding to bail halfway thru bc Miraak gets sensory overload very easily. that scene is meant to be more sweet and tender than actually sexy, and they p much just chill in bed together for awhile.

alternatively, I will write Kalaron having sex w Solalis the first time they meet and Caessera accidentally walking in on them, and then a few hours later Kalaron showing up to that super important job interview to hopefully get his promotion to a very high-rank of Thalmor agent and then he sees that Caessera is his new boss. who introduces herself as Solalis's mother. and Kalaron just sinks into the floor in absolute mortification.

but an entirely sexy sex scene? apparently not.

idk if I’ve mentioned it but Solalis is probably the most vicious melee fighter I have? like he’s ex-Thalmor and fights like it, which tends to piss off his Stormcloak allies. bc, for example, as far as Solalis is concerned, stomping on someone while they’re down to break their rib cage is not only acceptable but optimal. stabbing people before they notice him is his MO and he likes to use (enemy) human/elf shields when getting shot at w arrows or magic. so even though he doesn’t use magic in fights, the Stormcloaks really, really struggle to look past his total lack of chivalry. even Galmar - who is usually Solalis’s main supporter for the Stormcloaks - doesn’t like it, altho he admits that that’s exactly what makes Solalis so terrifyingly dangerous and efficient.

eventually, Solalis just refuses to fight alongside them and basically goes off to his own thing, but still brings Galmar Thalmor documents or frees Thalmor prisoners and the like. at one point Ulfric tries calling Solalis out for being so dishonorable in combat, but Solalis just points out that Ulfric used the Thu’um against Torygg in a formal duel and do the Thalmor really deserve chivalry anyway? so Ulfric basically let it drop.

Viraya is a close second for most vicious melee fighter and she basically took Solalis’s job when he left.

Solalis Caessaire! twin brother of Aureya Caessaire, also known as Dragonborn Vokriid, and son of a very highly ranked Dominion official. some facts:

ex-Thalmor assassin with one of the highest bodycounts of a single individual re: the purge of the Blades.

prefers stealth, dual-wielding shortswords, and Alteration. is average at best in any other magic.

most Thalmor bases have his wanted poster

told Elenwen to go get fucked during Season Unending in front of the entire meeting

made of Pure Spite

gay af, but absolutely terrible at picking boyfriends and in love with his ex

loves dogs. usually has a little spaniel that essentially is his ESA

wants to adopt all children ever but is simultaneously too terrified of parenting them badly

puts up with people’s shit too much

thinks Ulfric is an absolute dumbass, and works behind the scenes to try and mitigate the dumbassery

uses Alteration magic to do his hair bc he is vain

only person Aureya treats with any amount of love or respect

the longest stretch of time he spent separated from Aureya in his entire life (+200yrs) was about five months

honestly writing Ulfric's interactions w my Stormcloak-aligned ocs is so fun bc they're a goddamn disaster and somehow ALL KNOW EACH OTHER and Ulfric is just trying to keep shit together.

like Lilja and Adhara are actually sworn to him and they seem to get along great, so that's nice except sometimes they disappear together completely without warning - but whatever, Ulfric can handle it even if it does piss him off. but then Galmar brings in Solalis, and Solalis seems vaguely freaked out by Lilja and Adhara, and in general won't talk about the Thalmor or Legion intel until Ulfric sends the girls on an errand outside palace. and then sometimes Lilja's bosmer dad comes to visit and it's a struggle to keep him and Solalis from starting a fight in the middle of the throne room bc apparently Tavan fucked Solalis's ex-lover and Solalis is still REALLY bitter about it. and anyway this is just way more drama than Ulfric would be willing to deal w if they all weren't exceptionally talented/useful assets.

and even all this is better than when the Dragonborn visits to see Solalis bc she is a host unto herself.
