Yet another redraw of an old sketch I've had in the abyss that is my digital sketchbook for nearly 3 years now. It's about time I finished this up and finally set it out into the world. I'm tired of it, it needs to go. Enjoy my sweet boys!!!

Finally, I've always wanted a fairy OC but never could conjure up a decent design. Even now I'm like 'this is.... fine.' (I'll tweak it more later hehe) But yah, this is Declan!! A fairy OC I threw together for this year's Artfight. I'll write more about him in the future. for now I just really wanted to get his character sheet up and done. COME HANG OUT WITH ME ON ARTFIGHT!! I'm team Tragedy!! WHAT'S YOUR TEAM?!!

HAPPY REDRAW WEDNESDAY!! (Totally did not just make that up on the spot!) The original can be found HERE. This was LONG overdue for a clean-up and redraw. Snufkin wasn't looking very Snuffy in the old version. SO, while it's still not as Snuffy as I would like it's still an improvement. Honestly the rest of the image seemed fine to me, it was Snufkin who looked so uncomfortably out of place at the time so I'm glad I took the time to rework it now. Poor Moomin doesn't seem to recognize exactly how GAY he is sometimes. We all need a Little My to remind us, I think...

LONG TIME NO SEE!! I've been in a creative rut for a very long time, I've struggled to get anything on paper for months, so revisiting incomplete projects and redrawing old doodles have been all I can really swing at this time. But at least my sweet little muses still help me stay in practice VuV

I FINALLY FINISHED THIS!!! I scribbled down these sappy lil whumpy doots MONTHS ago (we talkin' before summer, y'all) and I never really did much with them afterwards. I know I had a story laid out for them at some point in the past but time and life got away from me. New fandoms sprung up and my interest in completing this comic waned. LUCKILY, I did manage to remember the briefest bit of the original story and I was able to scrounge it together for ur reading pleasure just below the cut. So if you're here for a little whimsical whumpy hurt/comfort, Moomin Valley style, YA COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. Enjoy.

The miniature grandfather clock tick tick ticked away at the far end of the room, but Moomin didn't hear it. The rustling of leaves just outside the guest window motioned to him in an effort to tempt Moomin away from his long vigil, but to no avail. The cloudy greys of the early morning sky painted a dismal picture as the valley held it's collective breath. Something was not right and it felt it, all felt it.

Velvet ears locked in alert, listened closely to every soft, heart wrenching gasp. With a sigh of his own Moomin reached for a small hand peaking out from under the quilt. He held it delicately in his own, the skin cold and frail after a distressing night. Too long had he sat fighting back the tears, the anxiety, the terrifying realization that time may not, in fact, heal all. He remained steadfast in his resolve, despite it all. He would not leave this seat until he was sure Snufkin would recover. But with each passing minute that resolve cracked and chipped, his tired eyes betrayed his waning optimism and as the clock chimed 5 and the muddied light of a hidden sun crept over the valley, the exhaustion finally wrung a small whine, a tear finally fell and Moomin lay his head into his arm. 'Oh, dear, dear Snufkin..... please wake up.' He whispered into the quilt. An silent moment passed and something shuffled the blankets, the bed twitched ever so slightly beneath Moomin's weight and a voice, dry, quizzical, barely above a whisper, silenced the tick tick ticking.... 'M-moomin?' Moomin bolted upward just as Snufkin's eyes opened, surveying his surroundings before slowly turning towards him with a sleepy blink. He sucked in a long, deep breath, the deepest in days, and exhaled a raspy 'hullo...' Moomin squeezed the little hand as warmth returned to Snufkin's finger tips, and the tears flowed down anew. 'Hullo yourself!' He squeaked and laughed as pink and yellow light broke through the window glass and the birds set forth on their morning flights, a collective sigh releasing across the valley all at once, whistling a familiar tune now that the clouds began to part and the sun stirred the world to wakefulness. The stream babbled and chuckled and splashed against the old bridge in response to the mirth that flowed back into the once somber Moominhouse: 'It'll be okay,' it sang, 'it'll be okay...

I've been crocheting since I was a kid. It's been tough learning over the years since I'm left handed and everyone who taught me were right handed. But every time I apply myself I learn something new, find a new stitch, a fun new idea, discover or invent a new pattern. Thus, I've successfully completed my first ever Granny Hexi-cardigan and I'm kind of in love with it. Considering the time it took to undo the first failed project this came from and the concern that it may not come out how I wish the second time around, I'm very pleased with this little piece and am excited to show it off to the world! And look! It's the perfect matching color of our favorite vagabond and philosopher!!

From where it started (and I felt really sad taking it all apart. it had taken me weeks of hard work and sore hands and poor posture to put this together, but I just hated how it fit, how it hung, how unimaginative it was)

To this, finally something that felt correct, that was coming together nicely and flattered my shape and colors working well with each other. I was so very lucky that I had just the right amount of yarn needed because Joann had just gone out of business the weekend I reached the end of this project and I was worried I'd not have the right colors to complete it. But with a little quick thinking I managed to put together something cohesive and this piece is probably a top favorite in my entire wardrobe now!!
