OOooooh now this is going to be difficult! (except the first one, Il trovatore my beloved)

Il Trovatore (the bops, the complex character dynamics, the ~tragedy~, the vibe of it all...~sheer perfection~)

La Traviata (I love Violetta okay...the vulnerability and hope in this opera is astounding...and every. single. note. is perfection)

Don Carlos (I mean... the CHARACTERS, the ANGST, this one hits HARD and I can't watch it often cause it's just too much)

La Forza del Destino (This one has very musically sexy baritone/tenor duets, the OVERTURE, pace pace mio dio, and it's just.. good. )

Un ballo in maschera (sad angry baritone TM, full of bops, the BEST Verdi prelude of all, and all the angst)

I do have some unpopular opinions... Everyone, please don't get mad at me and be aware that this is just *vine voice* mY opINION and it's perfectly okay to disagree <3

In no particular order:

• Puccini is overrated

• Russian operas are the best operas by far <3

• Opera singers don't need to act. As long as the emotions are projected through their voice, I don't care what their faces are doing (it's not like you can see it from the balcony seats anyway, it's the close-up TV streams that puts too much emphasis on facial expression)

• Modernisations are great, but don't mordernise stagings just for modernisation's sake, it needs to make sense for the story. Anachronisms are okay, too, don't get weird trying to get rid of them!

• Netrebko's singing isn't as terrible as everyone says, actually. (Her opinions are stupid, though)

That should be enough for now :)
