Throughout various social media outlets I've seen people post that Jackie Robinson was the first black player in MLB. That is not true. Many Baseball experts and historians debate the names of Moses "Fleetwood" Walker, William Edward White, Bud Fowler, Sol White and Frank Grant among a few as to who was the first black player in MLB. Jackie Robinson was first in that he was the first black player to break the established color line prohibiting black players from playing in any level of organized baseball affiliated with the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues. Its ironic that a true gentleman in the form of Jackie Robinson broke the so-called "Gentleman's Agreement" by taking the field at Ebbets Field on April 15, 1947. I just wanted to clarify the difference for those who didn't know. https://baseballsiscokidstyle.blogspot.com/2018/04/jackie-robinson-was-not-first-black-to.html Link also in profile. #JackieRobinson #JackieRobinsonDay #MosesFleetwoodWalker #BudFowler #SolWhite #WilliamEdwardWhite #BlackBaseball #BlackHistory #BlackStudies #AfricanAmericanHistory #AfricanStudies #BaseballHistory #HistoriaDelBeisbol #Baseball #Beisbol #BaseballSisco
