Doing another one of these easily forgotten or missed SPN lore posts since people seemed to enjoy the last one (my fellow lore junkies showed up)
Anyways, without further ado:
- A garrison of angels is also called a ‘flight’.
- Castiel was present for the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah, the Tower of Babel, Cain & Abel, David & Goliath, and the first terrestrial evolution (that would go on to be humanity) as a fish pulled itself onto shore.
- Sam had prophetic dreams depicting Jessica’s fiery death days before the event took place. He blames himself for her death due to his efforts to ignore these warnings and hold onto his newfound normalcy.
- In Season 5, Dean convinces past Mary of his identity by recalling that John initially won Mary over because he knew the lyrics to every Led Zeppelin song. Dean later, in Season 12, gifts a mixtape full of Led Zeppelin songs to Castiel.
- Dean and Sam are named after their grandparents, Deanna and Samuel Campbell.
- Jimmy Novak and his bloodline are listed on an angelic artifact in the tie-in novel War of the Sons as a ‘perfect vessel’, explaining why his body can withstand holding Castiel (and Lucifer) without any internal destruction.
- Castiel’s name was first spoken in 3x06, “Red Sky at Morning”, as Sam reads aloud a binding invocation that calls upon numerous supernatural entities: “Aziel, Castiel, Lamisniel, Rabam, Erlain, et Belam!”
- Jo Harvelle grew up in the roadhouse around familiar hunters like Bobby Singer and John Winchester, who often hunted with her father Bill Harvelle. On her blog, she called them “Uncle Bobby” and “Uncle John”.
- Jo and Dean end up repeating history; Jo’s father, Bill Harvelle, died while on a hunt with John Winchester, in which Meg describes the man as having ‘held in his guts with his hands’. Jo ends up dying while on a hunt to kill Lucifer with Dean, and makes a comment about how her ‘guts are being held in with an ace bandage’.
- Dean is allergic to cats.
- Dean received the ‘samulet’ prop from the Fan Fiction episode to make up for having trashed the real one; he hangs this up in Baby’s front windshield.
- According to psychic Oliver Pryce in Season 10, angels minds can only be interpreted as ‘colors’, beyond human perception and understanding.
- The same exact clock, a slim, wall hung face with silver ‘sun beams’ extending outwards, can be seen in nearly every episode.
- Dean’s favorite song is, according to him, either “Ramble On” or “Travelling Riverside Blues” by Led Zeppelin.
- Cas tried to warn Pamela Barnes, the psychic who first identifies him after saving Dean from Hell, not to look upon his true form. She ignores his warning and continues the conjuring anyways, which leaves her eyes burned from their sockets.
