Song 2 by Blur
Today in 1997
#Song2 - @blurofficial (#1997) • With loud guitars and cryptic lyrics, the band wrote this to make fun of Grunge music that was big in America at the time. It ended up being Blur's biggest hit in the US. They are huge in England, but never caught on in the States. It was very ironic. Not sure why he is saying Wah-hoo in this performance haha. I prefer the original Woo-hoo. • #rock #music #dream #instagram #musicislife #musicvideo #band #musician #bass #drums #guitar #vocals #90s #alternative #live #musiclover #nirvana #pearljam #soundgarden #aliceinchains #rockofthe90s #smashingpumpkins #blur #damonalbarn #greenday #redhotchilipeppers #oasis #stonetemplepilots • Video Source: https://youtu.be/XAjOjEHRdRY (em Terra da Garoa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDyrcxdA3F_XWBMHh3y5A46-4fqpEbGeOMi5NA0/?igshid=1egghqwk805ke
Honestly the song 2 cover mcr made is fucking rad.
By pure fluke I found a Blur "illustrated biography" published in 1995 on a donation table in the middle of some random Tesco. I couldn't pass it up! 🎧💿 #boomerang #blur #damonalbarn #90s #1990s #britpop #music #1995 #britain #magazine #musicmagazine #video #parklife #song2
Song#2: I Wanna Get Lost With You - Stereophonics
Note: I had this crazy idea that maybe, at some point, Loki could fall for a Singer!Reader. Disclaimers: Not my characters, not my universe. Warnings: Loneliness, carelessness and hurting. Thor had managed to drag him away from the Avengers flat. Loki was driving everyone crazy in there. And, little is to say that he was proud of it. Adding to the charm, his brother insisted on this small and smelly bar they had seen the other day. It produced new musicians and singers every night. The God thought it would please his brother. Loki would never admit it but it did please him that his only sibling at least tried to appease him.
Do you remember the light in the flame? It was a birthday party of someone’s Then you told me your name For you were one in a million
It was not a birthday but a young women’s bachelorette’s party. All the same, this song did the trick. Loki was now laid out on the couch for the hundredth time in the same night. He felt your furniture were way more practical than his. After the first two weeks, you introduced him to modern music, and the songs you liked to listen too. He had seen the smile on your face as you excitedly told him all about your favourite bands. Even he did not try to decline the offer of letting him listen to it. I wanna get lost with you It’s the only thing I wanna do Get out of my mind with you So come on over I walked you home in the rain Speaking the same language You were running around in my brain Then you sent me a message It said… I wanna get lost with you It’s the only thing I wanna do Get out of my mind with you So come on over I wanna get lost with you It’s the only thing I wanna do Get out of my mind with you So come on over
Only now, in the crescent of the moon he suddenly understood the reference you had made in your first text : ”Could you come on over? I want to get out of my mind with you.” It did make a reference to this song but you always refused to tell him, figuring he would find out soon enough.
I know we did some wrong You told me that now When i came to you That you were with someone If god messed up With so much stuff Like lifting a loaded gun But now that I’m out of my mind with you We got that day in the sun I wanna get lost with you It’s the only thing I wanna do Get out of my mind with you So come on over I wanna get lost with you It’s the only thing I wanna do Get out of my mind with you So come on over So come on over So come on over Come on over I wanna get lost with you I wanna get lost with you I wanna get lost with you Yeah Yeah So come on over…
He knew your anxiety would not let you sleep until you had some music on. He made it his job to turn it off before you got back up as it would wake you at ungodly hours, and he did not needed music to keep him awake at night anyhow.
Loki was not one to worry for no reason. He settled with telling himself he was probably too happy to enjoy sleeping. Although he knew he was lying to himself, the trick did work for a few weeks. Then he listened to that song and noticed that in the end, one lost the other because of the wrong they had done. The wrong he felt like he was doing was what he associated with it.
He just wanted you to get lost with and that was one of the things that scared him the most in this world. Earth was nothing, but you were everything he could possibly want. The way you would daydream never failing to mesmerize him. He would observe you before coming in the small establishment someone had rented. How he felt when he saw that you were here, trying to understand why no one was here but him.
Bliss. It was pure bliss. Loki knew it was wrong to toy about with people. Although he felt it was the only way he could get them to be close to him, he soon understood that his natural state, his eerie spirit and dry humour was enough for you. Not that it was enough for him of course. He sought out more for you. More grand things he could offer you. Again, he found himself at loss of words when he saw you smile at very small things around you. Those he would look upon with estranged eyes, as if he had lost the connection to them.
There was this one thing too, that intrigued him: he did not know how to deal with the fact that him, the God of Mischief could not for the death of him lie to you. On anything.
The thoughts of you made him smile, before making him cry.
The divine being, powerful amongst the happy few, felt as he was not valuable enough. He was a monster no less. He had killed people, and enslaved them. He still had the same kind of desire within him, he knew that. Only, he wanted to enslave himself to you.
With that thought, he had anticipated the way you would die, the way your children would look and die, the way his life would go on without you in it and it made him crumble down.
In your arms, he cried and sobbed like a weak child. At dawn, his breathing still, he wrote a note and left, promising himself never to come back.
It was a mistake that he came to regret.
