was there one scene you were building up to/knew you had to get just right?

the Grand Reveal of 1) Grantaire not being who he said he was, and 2) of Courfeyrac and Combeferre orchestrating the entire thing. It had like....5 chapters of build up so I knew it needed to be done well. And I had so much fun writing the reveal and the arguments that followed. When the comments started coming in and it was just everyone going absolutely feral I was just sitting on the sofa cackling to myself lmao

were there any scenes you were nervous about? for audience reception or otherwise?

the smut scene. omg. baby’s first smut scene. not only because it’s smut but also because there is definitely an aspect of dubious consent present, but I hope my content warning at the start of the chapter was sufficient enough to cover this. 

as well as that, I was nervous about the forgiveness scenes. Because like...what Courf and Ferre did was horrible and if my friends did that I don’t know how long it would take me to forgive them lol. I hoped I got across that, although Enjolras forgave them, there was still a ~weird energy~ present that would eventually be solved by time

any writing advice for people who want to write something like this?

Bold of you to assume I’m competent enough to give advice. 

well...if you’re writing an au of a pre-existing show like this fic, definitely don’t be scared to change the plot beats of the story to better fit the characterisation. I did this from chapter 3 onwards, and my characterisation definitely approved after that (in my opinion) 

also......HAVE FUN WITH IT. At the end of the day we’re doing this for free, so just write whatever the hell you want and if people wanna read and enjoy it, even better!
