i don't believe the fandom gives kunikida the credit he deserves when it comes to dazai's character development between his dark era days to his armed dtective agency days.

while yes, odasaku's part in it should not be underestimated, it's not like him giving dazai his parting words automatically turned him into the person he is today.

dazai's entrance exam played a large part to dazai's character as much as it did to kunikida's, it's just not as obvious because the story is largely told from kunikida's pov.

Look. The ship between Dazai and Ranpo is called Souheki, which literally translates as "Double Jade". Dazai had a duet with Chuuya that was called "Double Black". The ship between Dazai and Chuuya is called Soukoku. And Dazai has a duet with Kunikida. If there is Double Jade (Souheki) and Double Black (Soukoku), then the ship between Kunikida and Dazai should be called Soukiiro (双黄色, Double Yellow). Lol.
