Soulsmake - An AU Creation Event
A low stakes event about making a new friend and appreciating the journey of creation!
Soulsmake is simple. Sign up and be randomly assigned a soulmate of another creative in the Life Series fandom who you don't usually work with, then spend a month making an AU or story together.
After sign-ups close, you'll be asked to review the list of other sign-ups and let us know who to remove from your pool. The goal is to find a new story partner you haven't worked with before, so you'll be asked to let us know any regular creative partners you have so they can be removed from your pool. Once the pool-limiting review period closes, the soulmate rolling begins. You'll have about a week to get to know your soulmate and ensure you and your soulmate are compatible, but if you have any issues such as sharing no common interests or incompatible timezones making it difficult to talk, you can enter a smaller reroll pool or join an existing pair.
Once soulmates are settled, the AU creation period officially begins! Your AU can be Life Series, or it can be for another fandom where you and your soulmate have common ground. You can even make something based on your sonas or OCs. Shipping is allowed, but NSFW will not be reblogged to this blog.
This event is meant to be low stakes and "low effort," focused more on the processes of collaboration and creation than it is on a polished final product. Your AU should have some sort of story line, though it can be as complicated or as simple as you and your soulmate would like. While you're more than welcome to make a full piece of art or fic for your AU, you do not have to. Your final product can be as simple as a sketch or a fic outline. Whatever you want to do!
At the end of the event, you and your soulmate are encouraged to share your AU in whatever form it's currently in. @ this blog and use the tag #soulsmake to showcase your AU, though the end date does not have to be the end. You can continue to work on your AU after the end of the event—in fact, if you and your soulmate want to keep working together, that would be the best success this event could have!
