Eurovision sound issues

Anyone else really bothered by the sound mixing problems? The live singing is consistently being mixed too quiet compared to the instrumental and backing track. It is annoying because I think all performances would sound even better with the live vocal a little louder.

Slowly realizing all of the times I had full on meltdowns when my brothers would play their music too loud for too long and now when I get upset at certain noises and cover my ears to muffle them is because of my neurodivergency, which my family knew about and didn't do anything to help me or stop the noise causing me to have had and still have years of hell in which I thought I was the problem really fucking pisses me off

ipod issue - Sound

hey, so I have seen a lot of online How-To-Fix articles for my issue, but none are working. Just wondering if anyone else is having a similar issue

I have an ipod touch, 4th generation.  It’s not my original (which was 8yrs old when it shattered by utter accident). This one is a refurbished replacement of that one, that i’ve had maybe two years or so.

Recently, the sound’s doing something funky.

At first I’d be listening to something out loud, and the sound would just... stop. The track/song/podcast would continue to play as if it was working, but the sound would stop.

It still works when attached to headphones, or a wireless speaker. But the ipod itself won’t make sounds.

This week, it got worse rapidly.  Instead of it just not playing music, all sounds have ceased. The unlock clicking. The ringtones (used as a test). And most importantly, the alarm function, which is my goddamn alarm clock [so you bet I was popular at this job I can’t stand for the whole week].

I tried the following: 1)fiddling with the sound settings. 2)Checking if there was dirt/debris in the headphone jack (none, even used the compressed air spray to make sure). 3) turning it on and off again, with varying periods of time between. 4) Putting it into sleep mode. 5) Checking the external speaker for signs of damage or wear. It has not been dropped recently or anything of that nature. 6) Reset the settings. 7) Blank the whole fucking thing and reset the ipod.

To no avail. Nothing is working.

Some have mentioned it could be one of the last updates doing it, but I’m not sure. 

Has anyone else had this issue?

Having to get apple to ‘fix it’ (replace it) can take like a month, and costs $140, so if that can be avoided, it’d be nice.

Welp!

2023 has been largely an improvement over 2022, but '22 was just a flaming pile of shit.

'23 wanted to give me a final kick in the ass on the way out, though. My webcam has been giving me issues on and off for months, but tonight it seems quite dead. On top of that, my sound card appears to be dying a swift death.

My laptop may be at the beginning of a terminal cascade. Even if it's not, the sound card is a real shame. Well, at least I backed up the important things.

She is an old girl. Circa roughly 2016. As laptops go, anyway.

Of course since I do most of my writing on my laptop, it's gonna fuck me over a bit if it does die.

I wanted to start 2024 here on tumblr with a triumphant,"I wrote 2700 words last night!" buuuut.... now I'm mostly wondering how I will ever afford to replace it.

(I was more Hannibal, I can't get the show out of my head!)
