Gunn-Truscinski Duo — Soundkeeper (Three Lobed)

The long track, “Soundkeeper,” one of two live recordings included on this double disc album, distills long glowing drones into translucent purity. It lays bloopy, shape-shifting whammy notes across glistening acres of hum. It floats a glitter of picked notes top serene, Caribbean-warm washes of ambient sound, and kicks long meditations into motion with restless, antic drums. It is the clear centerpiece of this wonderful album, the fourth from the duo of Steve Gunn and John Truscinski, and though you can envy the people making muted noises of approval from the room where it was recorded, you can also appreciate the way it spreads to fill a sunny, daydream-y afternoon wherever you are right now.
u are the most handsome prince i could imagine!! radiating magic and stars and truly u kinda look like you're glowing ~^.^~ crushin' a bit and sending lots of love
AhhHHHhHHHHHHHhHThank you sOooo much!!
what are some effective ways for a white person to actively "help break the idea that veg*nism is a White people thing"? thanks in advance :)
Well right now a good thing would be for white vegans to check their privilege when talking about animal rights vs. comparisons to human tragedies. This is 1) appropriative, and 2) it turns off a lot of potential listeners because you just compared what they dont even see as equals.
Also help promote prominent vegans of color, like Sistah Vegan (Breeze Harper), who discusses the intersections within veganism.
Sometime soon I'd like to share some of her content in this blog.

Founded in 1984, Puget Soundkeeper Alliance (Soundkeeper) was the first grassroots citizen’s organization to focus exclusively on protecting the marine environment of Puget Sound. In 1990, Soundkeeper became the 6th licensed member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, a national movement founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Today, over 200 individual Waterkeepers around the world act as stewards for their waterways and defend their communities’ right to clean water. Soundkeeper works to protect and preserve Puget Sound by monitoring, cleaning up and preventing pollutants from entering its waters. To achieve this mission, Soundkeeper actively monitors Puget Sound water quality by boat, enforces the Clean Water Act, engages with stakeholders and regulators and implements solution-oriented partnerships with Puget Sound residents and the business community. For this project, the AmeriCorps member will help coordinate three areas of Soundkeeper’s programs: 1) Soundkeeper Volunteer Trainings. The member will recruit volunteers and organize Soundkeeper Volunteer training events. Soundkeeper Volunteers are trained to recognize, document and report pollution. The member will steward and maintain contact with trained Soundkeeper Volunteers and process submitted reports. 2) Marine Debris Cleanups. The member will recruit volunteers and help organize marine debris cleanups and education/outreach events. Soundkeeper hosts events ranging in size from 20 to over 200 volunteers including corporate employee service days, Duwamish Alive!, the International Coastal Cleanup, the annual Lake Union Sweep and events with local service groups and schools. 3) Pollution Patrols. The member will participate in and coordinate volunteers for Soundkeeper’s weekly kayak and boat patrols. On-water patrols are a vital piece of Soundkeeper’s work. Pollution patrols help connect members of the community to our waterways. They also allow staff and volunteers to act as watchdogs for sources of pollution.
"Isn't it lovely?" she sighed. "It's my favorite program--fifteen minutes of silence--and after that there's a half hour of quiet and then an interlude of lull. Why, did you know that there are almost as many kinds of stillness as there are sounds? But, sadly enough, no one pays any attention to them these days."
